PRESS RELEASE: 2020 North American Enduro Cup

The stage is set for the return of the North American Enduro Cup (NAEC) to Silver Mountain Bike Park in Kellogg, Idaho. We'll be racing on Northern Idaho’s best lift-served downhill mountain bike trails - the same trails that consistently earn Best in the Northwest top awards. Celebrating its 5th year, the NAEC has made a name for itself as one of the most challenging and rewarding races in North America. The 2020 edition continues the momentum with a new course, never before ridden tracks, the $12,000 pro purse, plus some exciting new additions underway to take it to the next level.

New Trails: Flagged in the summer of '19 and shovels were in the dirt this fall.
New Categories: We’ve added more amateur age categories! See the full listing of categories below.
New E-Bike Categories: Yes, we are going there. By mid-race some of you may wish you were on an E-Bike, too.
Finish Line Festivities: We will be there to cheer you on across the finish line with a proper celebration for completing this epic race.
Cut-Off Times: We have been resisting this, but it's time to add cut-offs for those who like to take a nap mid-race or go shower before turning in their timing chip.

Is the cutoff really necessary? I don’t think people were lollygagging out there this year. Seemed more like the organizers didn’t quite realize how long the course would take.

That's what we get for lollygagging around in line for stages all day. Last year also had a course hold or two. I hope they're generous in their cutoff times.

@dirtyhal agreed. They also probably didn't plan on the massive bottleneck of multiple categories trying to get down the last stage at the same time.

@sledshed: The two day format was great, none of these problems! An event this big deserves to be a two days.

serious question: why the ebike class? to sell more tix? a requirement to be an ews qualifier?

Yeah that's way to many categories...

Damnit.. I don't own an enduro bike. But I own a hardtail and an ebike..... I am torn on which one I should race this year.

 33 classes Holy Crap

Kind of nice to see the ages get broken up like that though. As a 39 year old having to race in the 30-39 category it sucks lining up with a 29 year old bike shop employee who's 30th birthday is sometime in Dec. It's also good for 49 year olds who dont have to race guys my age this year.

Makes it easier to podium with 6 riders per class.

@gilby82: Try 2-3 in certain classes. Guaranteed podium and shwag!
