Now in its fifth year, Big Bear Mountain Resort’s
Crafts N Cranks bike and brew fest has become one of the bigger mountain biking events on the West Coast (with a $43,500 prize purse to match). The two-day festival, centered on that most natural combination of beer+bikes, with some live music and carnival rides thrown in for good measure, is set for July 20 and 21 at Snow Summit.
New this year, the event will add a Dual Slalom competition to take advantage of the newly-built slalom course in the base area. This year's packed
competition schedule includes:
- The CA State XC Championships
- The sixth race in the Golden State Endurance Series
- The sixth race in the CA Enduro Series
- Downhill
- Best Whip
- Best Trick
- Dual Slalom
In addition to the on-hill action, guests 21 and over can sample 40+ craft brews from some of Southern California's most popular breweries with tastings available from 11am-2pm on Saturday and Sunday while enjoying live music and plenty of family-friendly activities.
Race registration is available online and on-site. Save $15 when you register for the XC, DH, Enduro, Dual Slalom, and/or Endurance races online. Please note, on-site registration payment must be made in cash or check and includes a $15 processing fee. Registration for the Best Whip, Best Trick, and Dual Slalom competitions is free (all ages). All participants must purchase a lift ticket for that day at the Team Big Bear tent (BBMR passholders are exempt).
The event is free to attend, with beer tasting and base area activity tickets available for purchase on-site or
online.
