PRESS RELEASE: Northwest Tune-Up Festival

To kick summer off in style, the inaugural Northwest Tune-Up festival, a celebration of mountain biking, beer, and music, will be held July 8-10, 2022. In a region overflowing with passionate bikers, renowned brewers, and talented musicians, the NW Tune-Up is excited to bring together the many cultures that make the Pacific Northwest so special. Early bird tickets are on sale now.
Bellingham’s newly renovated Waterfront District will serve as the festival’s downtown hub, hosting races, demos, concerts, and libations. Nearby Galbraith Mountain, the city’s premier network of trails, will be the base for the festival’s on-hill mountain bike demos and races.

“A decade ago, Brandon Watts and I started the dream of showcasing our amazing bike community and the trails that drew both of us to Bellingham. We're also passionate about craft beer and music, so we're thrilled to have an all-star team from the beer, bike, and music industry bringing the NW Tune-Up to Bellingham."—Eric Brown, NW Tune-Up Co-Creator.
Tune-Up will feature live music on two stages at the waterfront. “It’s a perfect setting: incredible musicians performing as the sun goes down behind the San Juan Islands," said Hunter Motto, Head of Music for the NW Tune-Up as well as the Crocodile in Seattle.

“The Port of Bellingham is excited to be working in partnership with the NW Tune-Up. This signature event will contribute to the economic growth of our region. It will also be an opportunity not just for mountain bikers but our whole community to truly experience what the Waterfront District has to offer today, and into the future.”—Rob Fix, Port of Bellingham Executive Director.
The three-day festival will be action-packed and family-friendly, drawing a crowd from near and far. From morning yoga sessions on the waterfront to bike races around town, followed by evenings filled with music and local brews, there will be endless opportunities to enjoy all that Bellingham has to offer. There’s something for the whole family to do every day of the event, with activities and happenings from the Waterfront to Fairhaven to Galbraith. In a collaborative fashion, the Tune-Up is not only dedicated to providing a fantastic weekend of fun but also a lasting impact filled with recreational opportunities and a revitalized infrastructure that contributes to the region’s legacy.

I'd love to see some sort of bulletin board at the top of Galbraith with a map and a ton of pushpins so that we can see where people have traveled from for this event!

It would be really nice if some of the proceeds went to WMBC for trail work.

MISSION STATEMENT Our mission is to support organizations in the community that further cycling access, education and recreational development, and build infrastructure to solidify a heritage established through a love of the outdoors for generations to come. The WMBC will be one of the biggest beneficiaries of this festival.

@freeridejerk888: You must not spend much time at Galby. There isn't a minute during the day when there isn't someone hanging out in the parking lot. Breaking windows for theft won't fly there.

I don’t. Family fun center ain’t it but for real look on the neighbors and Reddit pages for the area. Lots of break ins there so much theft in Bellingham. Especially bikes @thatguyzack:
