 @TheOriginalTwoTone: We all know deep down 148 should've been the old 157 standard from the beginning, but ofcourse the industry did one over on all of us and mass produced 148 so they could sell new bikes. Now that everyone's invested in high end wheelsets in 148 and plus is slowly being seen as the red headed stepchild that it is yes, I want it to die for trail bikes...

 @projectnortheast: not true. If it was as simple as wider=better I'm sure 157 would have taken off a long time ago.
Wider rear hubs are not without compromise, that's why 148 will probably remain for the foreseeable future

 @projectnortheast: I'd say 142 should have been skipped. 148 actually has some merits, but a lot of manufacturers lost sight of it in my opinion.

Originally everything I read was 148 was the widest they could go and keep narrow q factor. Too many manufacturers just wider on the Q as well.

I've had a 157 rear bike and my knees hated it.

 I'm not buying anything until the ultra mega boost spacing comes out next year at 165mm.

 What's wrong with 3x? Evil made a 430mm chainstay 29er bike with 2x on 142mm spacing and a tight 2.4 tire. Hope uses 130mm with that same spec. Once the front deraileur was dropped, you could design a bike with 2.5 tire clearance and a 135/142mm rear. But who makes new 142mm? 148mm and larger may make for stiffer wheels, but rim design/construction will always be the weak link. I'm a large pizza and a 6er of beer heavier than most riders on here and I have one bike with 3 seasons and over 1,200 miles on an aluminum 29er rim with a QR 135mm and it's rigid (and 3x10spd). Rocks and low tire pressure have added dings, but it's hanging in there. I've built 1,000's of wheels, it comes down to build style and rim selection. Still think 148mm was Sram's answer to their stock pile of horrible 24 hole rims. So my thoughts on super boost... was not necessary, but what choice do we have now?

 When the first Spartan came out, I questioned the look at first. But like a redesigned Toyota 4runner, it grew on me. Looks good, looks different than other bikes too.

 That kink in the top tube/seat tube is so unpleasing. There's a lot of good going on overall but with the limitless options carbon has I'm sure they easily could have smoothed out the "elbow"

 I thought the same thing when I first saw pictures, but in person it's honestly not that bad. One of my riding buddies got an aluminum one, and It has really grown on me.

 Devinci's bikes seem to get progressively worse looking every year. The 26er Wilson 4 was the best looking bike ever, in my opinion. The original Troy was pretty cool, the Spartan I almost bought one of. The new ones are just... no.

 Straight seat tube so any leangth post. Beefy rocker pivot and a handle. Looks like a devinci, rock on.

 @Trabes: Yupp, that and tubes are triangulated w/ long welds and smooth transitions (on AL at least). Carry on!

 MTB has increased in popularity quite a bit. Naturally demand goes up, and so do the prices.

Im rooting for ebikes left and right to be brought mainstream, cause that means the "mechanical" bikes are gonna get cheaper.

 Aluminum... for $2,200?! That’s what I paid for a new CC Nomad frame 3 years ago. About two years before that I paid $750 for a new Devinci Dexter frame.

Frame only prices are insanity these days.

 You get lifetime warranty on devinci frames. They ride amazing. They aren't a low end brand.

 They're top quality, on par with everyone else and they do have a lifetime warranty, and they're customer service is decent. However, these prices are unjustified and so is thaylt stupid superboost. As a devinci owner who was waiting for this to buy one, I just changed my mind. I'll order a pole for the same price and to try something different.

 The feel of the rear end on a Devinci is second to none. Consistent, progressive and bottomless. Now that their sizing has moved into the modern era, I'd consider one again.

 I had a 2017 Troy (orange/red one) Amazing bike, super stiff, bearing lasted well here in PNW. I have zero complaints about the bike. I never had an issue as for the lifetime. That said a buddy of mine has a Devinci DH bike and has some issue with the rear triangle. They sent him a whole new rear triange, bearings, and hardware no questions asked.

 @spaceofades: sanata cruz and spec also offer lifetime warranties on frames. Hell with yt you save almost 4k! you could go buy an extra devinici frame as backup with all that cash lol

 @nismo325: biggest mistake you could make is buying a yt in Canada. Worst customer service ever, just buy a normal brand.

 Devinci is no joke, I wouldn't mind paying more for a Devinci over a YT, Canyon, Commencal ...

 Devinci has a lifetime warranty on their frames and isn't dealing consumer direct

Please tell me what's not covered? If you're going to come back with bearings- well they're a wear item.
So what you have left is manufacturers you say make a better bike but don't have enough confidence in it to warranty it for life and a company you say makes a subpar bike compared to the other yet somehow have enough confidence to warranty for life.

 @tgr9: being a devinci dealer I can tell you that they are more than happy to cover just about any type of damage to the frame. A dent that doesn't make the bike unsafe to ride doesn't warrant a new frame, but your chainstays or headtube snapping in half does. Rarely do we ever need to warranty anything from them. Also you can't complain about retail price and then argue you don't get the warranty 2nd hand, if you are buying 2nd hand you should not be paying retail.

And even if you damage your frame they'll most often replace parts for cheap. I got a replacement chainstay for 150$ like 3 years ago after I crashed it. Much better than buying a new bike.

 I have a bitch. Whats with that pathetic carbon bash guard. Everyone I know that has dinged a down tube dinged it in the middle somewhere not at the bottom.
On my old bike I had a carbon Rockguardz thingy and I cracked that at the top. That was twice as long as the guard on this rig. Now (because RG dont make one for my frame) I use a chopped up old tyre which is an insult to my freaking expensive bike. Otherwise yes, this bike is ok

 2015 Carbon Spartan had aluminum chainstays, 2018 is full carbon and a chunk lighter.

 CAD went quite a bit south around 2015 if i remember correctly

 Never heard of warranty ending after you claim...and yes there are crash replacements, no sure who gave you that info, but its wrong

 @Spillner: what I meant is that I did not crash. Devinci said the failure of the frame was due to crash so they would not honor the warranty. I bought a replacement part for 600$
