PRESS RELEASE: Devinci Global Racing

Here we go, 2023! Devinci Global Racing is ready for another year with returning riders, Georgia Astle, Evan Wall, and Greg Callaghan.

Irish enduro National Champ, Greg Callaghan, is back for a fourth season and will be fighting for top results on the newly named UCI Enduro World Cup (EDR) and select European enduro events. Squamish resident Evan Wall starts his second season on Devinci. He's aiming for more Top-15 results at EDR races and will add a few North American events like Whistler Crankworx to his calendar. Last but not least, Whistler’s very own Georgia Astle will split her time between freeride events, Crankworx events, media projects and maybe even a few Enduro World Cups.

bigquotesI’m buzzing to get my 4th season with Devinci Global Racing started in just a couple of months. It’s been a good winter of training in the Irish muck for me and I’m feeling ready to get racing started. It’s nice to be coming into the year with a lot of familiar brands and faces around the team but I’m also excited about the new partners coming onboard. We’ve got the best of the best on our bikes and the same looking after us, sounds like a good recipe to me!Greg Callaghan

bigquotesComing into my 5th year on-board a Devinci and I'm as fired up as I was on day 1 with the brand. It's shaping up to be another great season, keen to see what's in store for all my teamies!Georgia Astle

bigquotesVery stoked for another year of hoonin’ with this crew! The changes we’ve made have been great so far, and I’m ready to turn ‘er loose comes March!Evan Wall

New season, new partners.

For 2023, DGR welcomes two new partners: American braking components manufacturer Hayes and SendHit, a French brand specialized in handguards and other innovative products. Hayes is an iconic brand that pioneered hydraulic disc brakes more than 25 years ago. This season, Geo, Evan, and Greg will all be running Hayes’ newest product, the Dominion, on their bikes.

bigquotesWe at Hayes are thrilled to embark upon a collaboration with the Devinci team and hope that this becomes the first year of many that see Hayes, Devinci and the team that bears its name achieving ever higher goals together. It may sound odd that we aim to make the team faster by slowing them down, but we believe that to be the case. By adding a heightened element of powerful, modular, and extremely reliable control we aim to put the athletes in a better position to harness all their technical and athletic skill over every millimeter of competition at the world’s highest level of enduro competition. While the components we supply to the team might be small, our involvement is a big deal to all of us here at Hayes and we will work diligently to ensure that those small components make the biggest impact possible. Here is to a fantastic season ahead, together.Joshua Riddle, Marketing Manager at Hayes

On the staff side of things, we are welcoming a new team mom for the upcoming season. Melissa Newell, AKA Mops, will be looking after the squad for all their needs during race weeks. She is coming onboard as soigneur/cook/line spotter. The 2-time EWS Masters World Champ knows a thing or two about racing and good times. Ciaran Sullivan will be taking over assistant team manager duties and providing mechanical support. Lastly, Bastien Major will oversee team management and operations.

We are super happy to count Evan in our ranks. He's such a great human. He's fast on a bike. Always positive. Big Evan fans here!

@cyclesdevinci: But I was waiting for new colors since this fall.... we want new color for us, we don't care about the pro's bike!! Wink I want a complete black one or at least dark grey, something like this so I can customize it with some color parts! But more importanter than that, we need demos guys!! I don't want to spend that much on a bike if I will maybe not like it... I want a super plush mullet bike and I'm sure your spartan would be my dream bike going down, even if it's a full 29er, but I need to see if I can accept to go back to a slacker seatpost. I don't want to have lower back pain like I used to have on my older Knolly but I'm starting to get a bit impatient about finding my dream bike. lol Really don't want a Fox or at least Fox X2 shock but well, you seems to like those, like 80% of mtn bike brands so I guess I'll have to spend another 1000+ for a better shock. I don't care that much, I just want to demo one first of all so please come to Bromont this summer, before I buy something else fast just because I'm tired of my bike! Frown

@Timo82: I really like the green color on my 2019 Spartan 27.5 (aluminum). I also am not a huge Fox fan - I have a Lyrik upgraded to 180mm and a super deluxe coil. This bike has been a blast to ride and corrects for all the stupid errors I make while riding. I absolutely love this bike, which is good, bc authorization for a new one ain't coming anytime soon!

Looking forward to seeing new colours-never been a fan of salmon pink(at least thats what it looks like on my phone!).Even more looking forward to there being a frame only option on the Spartan HP

All black frame only with something else than the X2 shock. Anything else. Really anything except the X2! lol

please tell me Georgia will get a bike without a hole in the headtube Wink

Isn’t that where the fork goes?
  • 4 0
@idecic: Three holes instead of two. More holes more better?

In 2021, Georgia and the team ran stock bikes wrapped in vinyl to keep the production color secret until the release date. What you are refering to was simply a bit of wrap that had a tough time in a box getting back from Europe

They doing single speed this season? Did I miss who is moving the chains?

No partner in that category so the team decides what they prefer. Interestingly, they opted for Sram drivetrains this year. If they want to go back to Shimano, that's fine with us!
  • 1 0
@cyclesdevinci: You should sell your Spartan with new Sram (rock shox) suspension then... I will sell the Sram drivetrain to put my Shimano on but suspensions are more expensive to change. lol

@cyclesdevinci: nice! Thank you for the response!
