The results are in for Round #2 of the Fantasy Downhill Presented by Trek. Check how you did in the Global ranking here.

round 2 prizing

After two rounds, @BenParfitterole is leading the overall with 1525 points. The overall winner at the end of all 7 rounds of the 2018 UCI World Cup and the 2018 UCI World Championships will walk home with a Trek Session 9.9 with a limited edition exclusive paint job! More photos and detail on the spec here.

Starting now, right up until Qualifying before the next event, you can make as many changes to your team as you like to have a better chance at winning the next round. Your changes will be restricted by your available budget of a fictional $1.5 million. To make changes select EDIT TEAM button and then select the rider you wish to change. Then choose your new rider from the drop down list.

It's not too late to join if you haven't yet. There's prizing available for every round, and we'll announce round 3 prizes shortly.

Good luck!

Wow.. Just woke up to this and decided to check Pinkbike before heading to work. Gotta say I really lucked out here. Thanks to Amaury Pierron I don't have to fatigue my frail mind with tyre choices for the next five years. Cheers!

 congrats @Anarhichas !

 Congratz..
  • + 9
damn, I was at 845 points too :/ congrats to you @Anarhichas
  • + 2
 Nice, cheers Smile

@Brestling: Thanks buddy! If a Pinkbike mod confirms your points I'm willing to ship you a pair for the price of postage (~32e), when I get them!
  • + 2
@Anarhichas: I'm not a mod, but fwiw, I can verify that @Brestling had 845 points... With a team of Pierron, Wilson, Iles, Macdonald, Seagrave, and Hrastnik. Smile
  • + 4
@mtbikeaddict: Yeah, just realized that I can check it myself. Totally shipping a pair if @Brestling so desires.
  • + 2
@Anarhichas: I really appreciate that man, but you won this fair and square. They either tossed a coin or gave it to you because you have the higher global Points. Either way you really earned the win by trusting in a couple strong riders that weren't on everyones list. I'm just really stoked to get so close and I'll be for sure looking forward to next Weekend Smile

Just polish some of those greece berms for me with your new tires, I heared they get so dusty down thereWink
  • + 2
@Brestling: I thought the dirt got Greecy down there... I'll let myself out...
  • + 1
@mtbikeaddict: correct, I was really stoked when I saw Wilson sitting in the hot seat for ages before Pierron dropped in... this contest just makes the Worldcup even more exciting to watch!!!

 I am terrible at this.
  • + 6
 Me too man, me too
  • + 10
im at least in the top 18,000.
It pays to review your line up. I didn’t and just found out 3 of my riders where not even in England and one was not racing.
  • + 7
Lol, I carefully chose my team in round one and did terribly. Completely forgot to change my team this time and moved 12,000 places up the table.
  • + 16
@T-Bot: ah think ul find that none eh they riders were in England mate
  • + 1
@browner: correct. Some did at least transit via England. Most didn’t even make it to the continent.
  • + 8
I might be top now but I'm sure it will go downhill now!
  • + 4
On the plus side, I'm inching my way toward the top half of the fantasy teams. On the down side, putting a rider on my team is some kind of horrible internet voodoo curse. Brook MacDonald, Jack Moir: I am *SO* sorry, guys.
  • + 1
My apologies to those two as well, along with Dean Lucas, Alexandre Fayolle, Greg Minnaar, Loic Bruni, Mick Hannah, Aaron Gwin, Luca Shaw, the Athertons, and Myriam Nicole. At least most of that last handful weren't impacted too badly. (I hope). If we're going voodoo, I'm the witch doctor. :/ Razz

How can we see rankings for each individual round? I want to see how close I was to winning... almost had this one.
  • + 3
"My DH Team" then "Show team" next to "DH World Cup #2".
You won't have your ranking but you can see how many points you scored.
  • + 2
@Eaz: yea i wanted the rank to see how far i missed it by. 35 points off the winner, was just curious as to how many others in front of me.
  • + 1
Crap! Could I please just have one round at full strength? Razz Last round I had a couple riders get injured/not race. This round I had 2 injured and 2 major mechanicals (seperate)... And after such careful planning. I was out of town, when I got back I noticed healthy riders suddenly had 0 points... But rosters were locked. Anyway, I guess I should be grateful... I was at 4,000 and slid down into the 6k... Not bad I guess. Maybe I should pick randomly next time... Fate is not my friend... lol
  • + 2
Or wait, I think only 1 was a mechanical. The other was a major crash, and then another crash I forgot about. I seriously think I somehow curse the athletes I pick. I should see who my friend picks, and then pick the main competition so he'll win, and then maybe he'll share the prize with me. Razz

2 is my riders had their chains snapped right out the start gate. Fml
  • + 3
Damnit Luca! I was so close to never having to buy another set of tyres. Had him, Vergier and Pierron on my team.
  • + 1
Dang... Reece Wilson would've been money if someone had him and a couple other decent riders. $100k for a good podium... Eek Wish I'd seen that coming... Razz
  • + 3
Oh wait... I had Wilson and Bruni last time, but decided to change it up this round. Sometimes I hate myself... *facepalm* lol
  • + 1
My team got destroyed this week. One DSQ with Masters, one flat tire, one broken chain off the gate. I didnt stand a chance.
  • + 3
Is there a way to know which riders are going to an event?
  • + 2
Not really. They don't all update their instagram/fb account, and there are no official list of "starting riders". So you have to spend quite some time to check it; it's particularly tricky with the "cheap" riders
  • + 1
yeah, cant find updates for eva battolla, my budget is enough just for her
  • + 1
Well... i got hosed. Changed out my team 4 days ago. Apparently it fidnt register. Cost me quite a few points. Id be in the top 300.
  • + 3
Whoever won this week really deserved it. Good job!
  • + 1
is there a list of ALL riders, their points in each round and points so far?
  • + 1
 That's Global... Razz
  • + 2
Made up about 9000 places! I was lucky this round...
  • + 2
 shit did worse than before....
  • + 2
So I must apologize for jinxing the American riders, I suck at this.
  • + 1
Cool, I'm in the top 13000.....how are ppl good at this???
  • + 4
It’s 10% rider knowledge, 10% strategy and 80% luck. Look at the men’s field. There are way to many guys that can win it to make a safe bet. Especially as they are not only riding against each other but against the mountain as well
  • + 6
I’m not amazing, rank 432, but if you follow WCDH closely it’s not too hard.

My tip is spend the majority of your budget on women. There’s only a handful that can podium so you are guaranteed points from them. Then spend 150-200k on a couple reliable but cheap guys like Blenki and a dark horse.

It’s too risky to spend 400-650k on the top guys IMO.
  • + 1
Exactly what I did first round and did really well. Changed strategy second round and felt so good except it pretty much blew up in my face @gramboh:
  • + 1
@gramboh: Rachel was supposed to smoke it here, she must be Jinxed at Fort William, or maybe I Jinxed her this time around Smile her and Syndicate.
  • + 1
@miguelcurto: Yep bad luck for Rachel! I think she would've won easily without the chain snapping, probably avoid the crash by not taking risks to maintain momentum. But I think for fantasy, you put the $$ on Rachel, Myriam or Tahnee and you will be rewarded for it. You can use Eliot Jackson's WC analysis website to look at podium %.

I think I will stick with Rachel, Marine Cabirou for women for Leogang and then Blenki, Brook, Neko and a wildcard maybe Magnus Manson again... debating dropping Brook/Neko for Luca Shaw and then getting a more $ wildcard.
  • + 0
@leopaul: Think it’s a bit more like 10% luck, 20% percent skill, 15% percent power of will, 5% percent pleasure, 50% percent pain, and then you'll have a 100% chance guessing correctly for Leogang

I added up my points and it comes out to 865?
  • + 1
You have 870 points TOTAL, and are in the 6-7k range. @anarhichas got 845 points THIS ROUND. The number one total so far is @BenParfitterole, and he has 1525 points.
  • + 1
Thanks for clearing that up! Much appreciated @mtbikeaddict:
  • + 1
@trueeast: No problem, glad to help! Big Grin
