Olympia, WA - Basecamp Northwest Events is thrilled to announce the Diamondback Capitol Forest Enduro, a new Enduro event coming to Washington State. The date is set for September 15, 2012, at Capitol Forest, just outside of Olympia, Washington.

Cool to see enduro starting to take off here in the states. If you guys want to check out another enduro event come on over to Montana for the 4th annual Helenduro! I think we're looking to put it on in July this year so it would be a good event to catch to get ready for this.

And so it begins. I believe enduro will get huge! Perfect for countries like sweden where there are not to many hills in the lower parts.

Do some wear full face for enduro?

It is not uncommon to see guys wearing a combo of both by carrying the helmet they aren't wearing on their hydration pack and switching at tops and bottoms of descents. Full face the whole time would be pretty brutal unless you have an Enduro specific fullface

even an enduro specific fullface is too much for climbing,i thankfully got away with not wearing mine for the climbs up in my last race, thank god!

I think Dan Atherton wears a fullface for enduro.

They Make All mountain helmets that are perfect for enduro racing
  • 1 1
yeh i know i use one

It depends on the actual race format and on its rules as well. In France as TomSmoke said you HAVE to wear a full face. But it seems french and italian enduro are a little more DH and a little less pedally (in average, not in all races) than the equivalent north-american versions.
If Dan Atherton wears a full face (like other top riders) it's because they have to other disqualified. And considering the speed at which one can ride on a (sometimes) totally unknown trail it might not be such a bad idea. But yes, sometimes you feel your brain melting!

Which helmets would you suggest for Enduro/AM?
  • 1 0
There are multiple models out there. If you don't want a full face, Urge has the allm and the endur-o-matic. Giro has the feature. Poc has the trabec, fox also has one, can't remember the name. For full faces I know urge has the archi-enduro, not sure about other brands. The difference with the more cross-country oriented helmets is that they offer more protection, especially at the back but often at the cost of ventilation.
