Introducing the 2010 Dobermann Bikes Pinscher evolutions.

The 2010 Pinscher is now available, here's some spec's and info on them :

Working in small production batches allows us to tweek our designs as needed. Since the Pinscher's debut in 2005, the geo of the Pinscher and Molosse have not changed much (besides shorter chainstays). The geometry shared by those 2 frames is perfectly dialed and is the main feature of our frames! This geo will make your bike feel lighter and you will see an improvement in your riding in just a few rides.

We are working with frame "evolutions" rather than frame "model years", as some frames made in the spring might be slightly different from a frame of the same year produced in the fall. Most of the evo's found on the 2010 frames that are produced as we speak can be found on the 09 frames produced in the last six months (the new custom single butted top tube was added to the frames last summer).

Here's what's new on the 2010 Pinscher evolution :

-Custom single butted top tube
With the ever-increasing level of riding, popularity of rigid forks and new tricks that are abusing frames in ways that we haven't seen before (180's, foot jams, ect.) We needed to re-enforce our top tube to prevent deformation. We did some tests using super high-end alloys and specialty tubes, but the ultimate way to make it bomb-proof without adding weight and costs was to have some custom single butted tubes made for us by True Temper. The new top tubes are now much thicker at the head tube and gradually get thinner going down to the seat tube. This new tube allowed us to save some weight at the same time!

-24 or 26 inch specific
At the "demande générale" we have designed some new drop-outs that are specific for the wheel size of your choice. This allowed us to make smaller/cleaner drop outs which are lighter and where you can slam your hub axle all the way in. The classic 24/26 dropouts are still available at no extra cost on request.

if u dont like it dont talk shit just keep quiet little boy! this frame is sick and a euro bb and normal headtube is a good way to go it means you could put a saint or hone crank and a hope or king headset on it or whatever other good spec is out there. dont get me wrong i own a plan b which has an semi-internal headtube and a spanish bb shell that's a good thing only cos i can throw bmx cranks on it but its bad cos i cant put a mtb crank on it however i dont mind the headtube or bb shell as it keeps things minimal and clean moving on to the pinscher this is a good move they made as it will be easier to get a light set up with mtb cranks instead of dealing with chromo arms you'll be dealing with a chromo spindle and alloy arms (unless you get 454's or dmr tubular cranks or anything along them lines) doberman know what they're doing. you don't. maybe thats why the molosse has a spanish bb? whats the point in making two frames with the same headtube/bb shell??? its a waste of metal thus the two are different. do your homework before you start criticising!

you can run BMX cranks with a euro/mtb BB... I run hollowbites on one of my Pinschers and 1664 19mm cranks on the other... Euro BB's come in 19 and 22mm, and spacing is rarely, if ever an issue...

aww man i want a 26"frame with the 24" dropouts Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin
MidBB and integrated Headset would be a great option for me Wink
the 09frame rides so good
i think the 2010 frame with mid bb, 24" dropouts and int. headset would be the perfect frame for me
i never wanna ride an other frame than a Dobermann Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Wink

Wow, that's mighty impressive, especially all the options. Sign me up for one with a derailleur hanger and ISCG tabs.

Hmm... Well can't blame them for doing what they like. Nowadays streetframes have bit steeper headangle and few slight differences. I wonder why didn't they go in to the "weightweenie"competition by making it the lightest around. Nice frame anyways, i just happen to like steep angles =)

my bad on the molosse bb shell maybe i was looking at last years when i tried to research it? maybe they improved the frame from then to now? not sure but all bike companies improve or try to improve from the year before.

about the molosse bb shell this link was what i was going from:

www.ride-this.com/index.php/dobermann-bikes-molosse-frame.html

but if its a mid its a mid mid and spanish look the same dont they? just press fit bearings and a spacer in between with the spindle through? (i have a static plan b which runs a spanish bb)
  • 1 0
A Mid BB, by design, is similar to a Spanish BB, but the Mid uses larger bearings and is more akin to an American BB.

@seraph:thanks for explaining im not that good with bb shells as im more used to mtb bb shells than i am to bmx bb shells so my bad.
  • 5 1
phwooaarr i want one! looks like a big wheeled bmx!

I think dobermann are the only company who runs euro BB's on a 24" specific frame. Good on them for doing that. Definitely my next hardtail frame. Dobermann FTW
  • 3 1
sweet i love my molosse took like a week to get used to cause it was so damn responsive compared to my previous frame
  • 1 1
also its funny how the 2010 pinscher is more like the 09 molosse (same dropouts and chainstay length and mid bb as an option). Do the 09 molosses have the single butted top tube?
  • 3 1
Yes, they are both the same frame, only difference is the rear hub, bb and gyro tabs. The MID bb option on the Pinscher is if you want to keep the 10x135mm rear end and disk.

 the purple looks so crisp
  • 3 0
god dam it! wish i waited for this to come out!! instead of my cap! Frown
  • 2 0
My 2008 Pinscher that I got in the winter of 07 is still going strong, not even a single dent. The double wrapped chainstays are definitely a recommended option!

  • 1 0
what is better that or molosse
  • 1 0
Thanks a lot for perfect frame. Salut from Belarus )

should have Spanish or mid b/b, internal headset, integrated head tube, and not spaceship looking drop outs........or just get a ns
  • 12 1
Integrated headset do not save weigh or cost, they will never perform as good as a 30$ press fit headset. Its a trend that we try to avoid. But they do look cool!We can make some custom frames with them no problemo.
If its was only up to me all dob frames would have MID’s. But we cant, that’s why we have MID in option and stock on the Molosse.
Integrated seat clamp also look very neat , but we have found that they cause more trouble on the long run. If we use the regular one they can be hard to tight so you have to use lots of torque on them wish result in cracks. The other more ‘’sophisticated’’ designs are be more expensive to produce, they add weigh or cause problem like this
We are big fans of K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid) we never ad any problem with regular cheap ass seat clamp…Why jump in a trend that could cause some problem to our product ?
As for the seat tube size…we use a large and thick seat tube because that’s the aria were most frame fails du to rotational tricks. Larger and thicker tube will prevent this from happening.
We can produce a lighter frame, but we feel the frame we offer now are in perfect balance between performance/weight/strength and price, at 525$ Canadian the Pinscher less expensiv then some Taiwanese made frames.

When it comes to headset I can't see one "performing" better then another, they just spin, so to me it just comes down to how it looks. I see that cracked frame, should of had the clamp above the TT though.
  • 2 2
Euro bbs are a terble idea, they have the smallest bearings out of all the bbs (this is why bmx companys replaced euro with spanish the biger the bearings longer the bb life). Internal seat clamp how ever is a bad idea, It causes alot of stress to the seat tube causing cracks, so standard seat clamps are the way to go just make the seat tube shorter. However he is also right with the over sized seat tube, mtbmx should standard 25.4(1") seat tubes because lets face it everyone does run bmx seat and post combos on better yet a intigrated pivotal seat mount.
There are alot of room for improvement on this frame from what I can see also your frames arent as strong as you hype em up to be i hope you do understand that i mean the most broken mtbmx frame i seen is the pincher so in my eyes you just makeing another ordanary overpriced frame i did welding for awhile matierial wise and labour wise it doesnt take to much time or money to make that frame even if you are useing tig the slowest kind of welding
  • 1 0
 they have 31.6mm pivotal posts
dobermann is one of the only hand made frames left now that black market and s&m split..the quality is soo much better then in taiwanese frames
I've seen one frame with ripples in the top tube, but the top tube is different now so that shouldn't happen any more
  • 1 0
If you want a midd, you buy a Molosse. there are more broken NS bikes out there though, (which doesnt matter)
  • 1 0
for the extra 100 no thank you i think mids should be standard on all mtbmx frames its stronger and cheeper
  • 2 1
Its a 75$ difference to be more acurate.
yes..you pay 75$ more on the frame, but as you said, you have acces to cheaper and stronger bb and rear hub.
For some reasons...some people dont want MID'S...and are 100% happy with euro bb.
  • 1 1
Those dropouts.... i mean the area does not look so good, seems as if you did a massive drop they would snap.
  • 3 0
We've had some big gnarly dudes test them dropouts for over a year with nothing even near a crack. They have even been used as bottle openers with no damage.
  • 1 3
 Hahaha, alright.

Im still keepin with my saying. Razz
  • 1 0
can u put a hidrolic brake on this frame?
  • 2 1
 No lifetime warrenty?
  • 1 0
nope, but has a sick crash replacement plan and a 3 year warrenty i believe
  • 1 0
 love the colors
  • 1 0
 The blue one rules
  • 2 3
So still about a 69 HA with say an argyle?
  • 6 3
Yes +/- 69° with the Argyle.
Beside chainstay length, the geo is the same since the first production frame back in 05.
