Awesome for Fairclough! When's the last time he was on a podium? Definitely overdue.
  • 13 1
 yes Brendog !!!
  • 2 2
 Guys, any podium pic?
  • 3 0
 Yeeeehhhhh Brendog!

Morgane Charre - 25s? Wait, what?
  • 10 0
IIRC, she got the rainbow stripes on a muddy course. Good job Morgane!
  • 11 0
I was in the woods, at the little gap right before the cannonball. Morgane was flying!! She's the only woman who didn't crash in that spot! Some very impressive riding in all that mud

And nearly a hole minute between Jill and Casey
  • 47 2
I'm just stoked they didn't use scribd.

 Totally the worst!

Watching the live stream i came to wonder why northern americans are not even trying to pronounce foreign names correctly? Pronouncing all of them like they were english is no good sign of respect, especially with the french names.

So if you were announcing a north American race. You would pronounce all our names correct right??
  • 2 3
 There was a live stream??!
  • 27 3
@gouty: i'd try to find out how to pronounce the names beforehand. At least for the riders on the stream. Sometimes there does not seem to be any effort in that respect.
  • 15 0
@Muckal: the hosts are not the most gifted with linguistic abilities
  • 7 1
@gouty: Most of them, yes. Or at least in a way that you would recognise I was making an effort to pronounce it the right way, adhering to heuristics of English pronounciation - which can be a quite daunting task at times, I know: "Trénité: The Chaos".

Please, do give me an example of an (North-)American name that is hard to pronounce. And, if you find ONE, as a commentator you could go and actually research how to pronounce this lonely outlier.
  • 12 1
@jts-nemo: also, when the hosts manage to mispronounce even Phil Atwill's name (aTWILL instead of ATwill) you can't really expect them to learn how to pronounce other European names.
  • 7 2
@cuban-b: Or any hosting ability? Man, this set new superficiality records... If someone would tell me these were standup comedians impersonating U.S. extreme sports commentators, I would believe it. I turned the sound off after one 'A-OK' too many. Please Crankworx, get us Rob & Claudio.
  • 3 0
@jeroenk: in another post someone was saying how these guys sound just like the commentators parodied in the movie Dodge Ball, only these guys aren't being like this to be ironic or funny. in the movie, they literally are standup comedians impersonating U.S. extreme sports commentators.
  • 4 0
@jts-nemo @Muckal You guys are right, announcers should definitely at least make an effort to figure out the pronunciation - for respect/professionalism/whatever.

But let's be honest.... Crankworx announcers have always been ass. In WC DH they get guys who actually know the sport and are familiar with the riders. For Crankworx they always seem to get generic extreme sports cornballs who have no clue.

@jeroenk: google "inside so cal" and witness the genius of Kyle.
  • 1 0
@jeroenk: can't even give this post enough props!
It's just common sense, folks who share the passion will always be better hosts than guys who obviously don't. There is just nothing like Rob Warner and Nigel Page from the old freecaster times.

Top result from Shark Attack Jack holding it together for 3rd!
  • 2 0
Hell yeah. Hopefully itgives him some confidence leading into the next WC!
  • 16 2
Nice to see Brendog do well! He's been on a good year so far.
  • 14 1
The results are wrong, Barel was disqualified Frown
  • 3 1

#Enduro
  • 6 0
He cut the tape and straight lined a section right in front of us, missed 1 pole.
  • 4 3
The spirit of enduro was with him
  • 11 0
It's too funny to be real hahaha. I know how Canyon should call their next Enduro bike: "The Cutter". Sender, Cutter and Cheaper.
  • 13 4
 The "frenchie line"
  • 2 1
So did he cheat intentionally... Or did he f*ck up and just roll with it?
  • 14 0
@kleinblake: he looked at it, took a deep hit of Galouise and said, Ffock it! I ouill dou diss my waye! I am a Legend!
  • 5 0
@kleinblake: No he did not cheat intentionally, he just slipped away in one corner and missed one pole. Propaply because it was near the finish line he did just go on and crossed the finish line/crashed in the finish area with the tape still on his bars Wink So no cheating here...

 Anyone know the Junior results?
  • 26 0
Finn won by 11 seconds. And like a champ he wheelie dropped the road gap to flat.
  • 3 0
@mitch1616: Nice! Thanks for the report.
  • 2 0
 @mitch1616: any footage?

 What's up with the Women?
Did it all of a sudden start raining after the (eventual) winner did her run, 'cuz 25 seconds to second place is -as Dora The Explorer would say' RIDICULOSO!
Heck, then a minute 30 to what, 6th?
  • 10 1
Never did I think I'd see the day somebody quoted Dora on PB. Big Grin
  • 13 8
Looks like the British ladies gave this a miss so the others can have a chance of winning for a change!
  • 5 0
BAREL~ This is Huge!! Too bad for the end, but AMAZING to see you come that close straight outta Enduro after all that time!
  • 4 0
Thomas Estaque was on a winning run, sadly he went down
  • 2 1
SPOILER ALERT!!! Please Pinkbike can you NOT show the results/pictures of winners etc. on the homepage thumbnail/title some of us want to watch the replay with a bit of excitement left in.....
  • 1 0
Does anybody know who Thomas Estaque is ? Absolutely astonishing run, unfortunatelly bad luck with crash close to finish. Good to see Brendog on podium again.
  • 4 2
Top guy was more than one minute faster than the top girl, HUGE gap !
  • 2 0
