Ed Masters Hints He's Moving on From Pivot for 2020

Dec 27, 2019
by Sarah Moore

After 2 years on Pivot and some solid results on both the Enduro World Series and UCI DH World Cup circuit, including a win at round 5 of the EWS in Les Orres, it looks Ed Masters is moving on from Pivot Cycles for 2020.

bigquotesThe time has come to say thank you to @pivot_cyclesusa for an amazing 2 years. @bernard_kerr @okbyusand Chris gave me an amazing opportunity and I will be forever grateful. Traveling the world with good friends who go on to become family is something that I will cherish forever. No matter what the future holds I feel like I will always be apart of the @pivot_cyclesusafamily, more news to come in the new year.Ed Masters

On fire and untouchable all day Eddie Masters flew to his first career EWS win and now sits second in the championship
One of the most interesting characters in mountain biking is also one of the most talented. Congrats on a job well done Eddie Masters
Eddie taking the win in Les Orres.

We'll update you on Ed Master's sponsors as soon as we can.

I heard he’s off to Brodie after testing their 8ball enduro bike in the summer

Not seeing the words "moving on" or "goodbye" in his statement there...are we sure?

You never can be too sure with Eddie Masters! We'll see in a couple days...

@sarahmoore: Curious what he said when you reached out and asked him before posting this article?

@sarahmoore: Sounds like somebody has a little insider information. It's Yeti Eddie now isn't it?
  • 13 5
@heyjohnp: Pure speculation. We don't tag these as "Racing Rumours" for nothing.
  • 19 1
@chriskneeland: Let's just go ahead and shorten that to Yeddie.

@sarahmoore: you'll put this up, but I haven't seen the FMD/Syndicate mashup rumor posted and Syndicate was commenting on it.

@sarahmoore: Yep, those VitalMTB forum pages are pretty interesting indeed, well fed since mid September! Big Grin

@sarahmoore: Ed’s a pretty easy guy to get a hold of, as are the dozens of us Pivot employees who post on here regularly. I guess it’s more click-baity this way though. #journalism

A better question would be: has there ever been a rider who has thanked their team for the time served (with no mention of a next season) a few days before their contract expires who ended up not going to another team? We know that most riders have their next year deals wrapped up right around Worlds because of the YT/Gwin dust up.

@heyjohnp: If you’ve got the insider info, let’s hear it

I would bet an old 26in rim that he has been Mastering his marketing qualification this week. Creating positive social media engagement for him, his team and pivot cycles in a week when pivot wouldnt have much going on in mtb world. #Mastersclass @sarahmoore:

@ceecee: That's the team to go with for 2020 I hear ... All riders mentioned as leaving their teams over the past week will be announcing their new contracts with EDMH in the New Year, just you watch.

 Godd hope you are right

Such a bald move , finally he got the back up he needed then he got the results , Eddie shouldn’t f*ck around with these opportunities, great fan but don’t mess around

...and will be riding ______ in WC DH? Lol. Try again.

@endurocat: I assumed Richie was going to head up the new Rabobank Enduro team...

@JeffreyJim: You haven't seen Nate Hills' SB165 DH yet? The switch infinity platform adds 20mm of virtual suspension. Get with the times.
  • 3 0
@chriskneeland: lol. Yeah, Nate's new steed is sweet but hardly a WC DH bike.
  • 2 0
@JeffreyJim: We'll let Eddie determine that!
  • 1 0
@chriskneeland: sure, maybe he’d take a decent result at Leogang on one, but otherwise a trail bike won’t compete with a dh bike
