Can I be controversial? I suppose not changing a habit of a lifetime won't surprise anyone will it?

Is any one goggle brand better than another, talking technical functions? To be fair I can't answer that, in fact can anyone besides Pinocchio?

As long as they don't steam up, have plenty of vents and the strap and goggles stay in place, you're onto a winner. Make sure for the goggles you purchase, you can easily buy the tear-offs and the spare lenses. Otherwise that nice purchase may just be a huge waste of time. Should I remind you to make sure they fit your lid and your face correctly. No big gaps and sit on your beak nicely? Probably.

Goggles are firstly a safety product, they're to stop mud, stones and any other trail crap flicking up into your mince pies. A loss of clear vision even for a split second could send you into a tree or worse, before you even get chance to blink your eye.

Dark Forest

Don't forget that old chestnut of binning it into the over growth only to have your eye ball speared by a rogue branch. Then for all you mini bikers out there riding rough shot down the local waste ground. Anyone know Woodgate Valley in Birmingham? I was down there putt..putt..ing away. Before I could blink I got jumped by three chavs. Whatever they used to whack around my head, snapped my peak off and popped the lens out of my goggles. I honestly believe that my goggles saved me from being blinded that summer's evening, lucky escape.

These are Chavs, Scumbags, please view the pic and add your comment.

Secondly and more importantly for some, they are a fashion items. Don't worry, we won't be seeing Dolce & Gabbana, Henri Lloyd or even Lacoste blazed across the sides of our lids, well hopefully not.

Not that your style is anything to dis-respect. After all, who doesn't want a nice set of sparkling goggles? As long as they have the following you're all good to go. Just bring Gok along or your Mom to help you choose the right color way to match your bike, kit or eyes.

Pop channel 527 on (Extreme) today and the Winter X-Games appears, who will you see wearing Electric snow goggles? Snowboarders Andreas Wiig, Jaime Anderson, and freestyle skier Tanner Rainville.

Electric's classic EG1 frame can be used as either an MX goggle or a snow goggle, as the lenses are totally interchangeable. Fli the U.K disty headed up by Megavalanche Expert Colin (Fair weather) Williams swaps the snow lenses out and replaces them with a clear anti-fog with posts for tear-offs.

There you have it, a brief breakdown of goggles and why we wear them, or don't. What Electric has to offer is certainly leading out the cat walk with all those "Jazzy" colors as my Mom would say.

The only question is are you fast enough to carry any of the offerings from Electric off? If not who cares, you are going to look the dogs bits in the car park!

Am I the only person who misread that as 'Vomit Green'?

Another class article from that controversial British guy!

The Myth,
The Legend.

BUT!

Are they as good as Smith Piston's with Sensor lenses and their extra ventilation properties by removing the tear-off posts?

Well if it was a choice of Smith goggles id go for either the New fuel v2's or the intake's either of which are way better than the pistons. that last bit was a fact by the way as it states on numerouse website including Smith' own. but back on topic i used a set of the Electric eg1's for a couple of month and couldnt fault them, they just "work".
  • + 1
Yes I know its fact, hence why I said it lol You'd be suprised how many people don't know about it though! I prefer the Pistons myself as they look a lil cleaner than the rest of the line. Loving the graphics on the Fuel V.2's though!

"Don't worry, we won't be seeing Dolce & Gabbana, Henri Lloyd or even Lacoste blazed across the sides of our lids, well hopefully not." I regret to inform the pinkbike community that GUCCI as well as ED HARDY are now making snow goggles. lets hope and pray that we NEVER see dirt versions of these.

Gucci goggles will match perfectly with my ECCD seat ;]

 mate, too far, too far

Its a shame that we can tar Ed Hardy's name in this - some douche bag designer has taken his artwork and emblazend it on all sorts of crap with chintzy sparkly bits and what not. Ed Hardy's own tattoo designs were sweet, the licencing has just got out of hand. On tpic tho the goggles llok good. Like goggles really! Stealthy bits for the understated and crazy for those fluro types - something for everyone.

Some douche bag designer paid Hardy to license his name and designs...he's still alive so had a say in what was done with his name, unlike Von Dutch who was dead before his name was used as a clothing line.

thewy even make snowboards like how gay can u get
  • + 3
charley, some of the models do come with silicon on them, some don't it depends whether the box is a snow one or an MX one. As Si has mentioned about, the frame is the same. However after extensive testing, mx and DH, for 5 years now. We can safely say, it makes bugger all difference.
