Swedish Nationals took place at Gesundaberget last weekend and for the first time this season we got a race in totally dry conditions, this was very appreciated by the riders since Gesundaberget is a real tricky one in the wet. This race had both the regular Enduro series and Swedish Nationals hosting at the same time, making it quite interesting with some Norwegians and Danish riders in the mix fighting for points in the regular series. The stages had something for everyone, some bikepark, some endless loamy runs down the backside and also a stage that had the rider take a couple of pedal strokes between the start and finish.

Over 250 riders were racing this weekend.

Gesundaberget offered the riders at least two lift supported transports to the stages, the lift got a lot of character with wooden seats and a pretty slow pace, giving the riders a chance to look at views and lines.

Frederik Mörkeberg Mikkelsen from Denmark shows up on almost every race in the Swedish Enduro series, making sure that we don't forget our fast neighbours in the south. Next race for the series will be in Vallåsen in the south of Sweden, pretty much home soil for the Danish riders.

There was a lot spectator at this race but these guys probably took the prize for most dedicated fans.

Miriam Holm's flying down stage 6, her fighting spirit is well shown in her riding and she will be a real contender for the Elite Women in a couple of years.

Ebba Johansson had a great weekend and finished 3rd in the Swedish Nationals and 4th in the regular series, she had a couple of days in Åre Bikepark before this race and it seems like it paid off for her.

photo
Daniel Swanbeck is having a great season, ending this weekend with a double 3rd place and ads another podium to the count this season.

Josefine Björkman took the win here in Gesunda last year but this time she had to settle with second place in the National race and a 3rd in the series, the overall is looking real exciting right now with Josefine in 2nd place just 30 points behind the leader Linn Olstam.

Anton Karlsson looked really solid during training but didn't really have the pace needed to stay in the top 10.

The streak has ended, Simon Carlsson has won every race so far during this year's series but for this one, he had to settle with second. Still sitting safely in 1st in the overall though.

Johan Geschwind showed that he been racing in Gesunda before in his racing career, ending up 2nd on the last stage, the stage with a lot of parts from the old downhill track in Gesunda, at the end of the day Johan took the 11th place.

Its not hard being a photographer when in Gesunda.

Jacob Ekström took first place in the U21 category, would have given him an 8th place in the Elit ranking so I guess it's just a matter of time until he's on top of the box there as well.

With over a minute faster than her competition, Linn Olstam is officially the fastest Women racing Enduro in this country. She also got the number one plate in the overall.

bigquotes It felt good all weekend and I've been riding really good, I just love riding at this place.

photo
Adam Larsson took the 2nd place in the U21, blasting down the last stage.

photo
Zakarias Johansen is again the National champion of Sweden, he's been riding at another pace than his competition all weekend and I must say I'm not surprised to see him on top. Winning with over 30 seconds. Good luck in Whistler during the EWS.
