GO Noga!!! great result for a privateer !! she is working every day.9 hours. to pay for this races. damn. she deserve to be in a good team!
(May 16, 2017 at 7:17)
agreed. came basically out of nowhere and is consistent as nobody. someone contract her
(May 16, 2017 at 14:46)
love how top women have single digit plate and Noga has kind of 400
(May 16, 2017 at 6:25)
Am I the only one that thinks "where did they find this host, and why does he always look like he just woke up from a video game induced coma"?
(May 16, 2017 at 9:57)
I'm pretty sure he used to be in mbuk a lot back in the day. Other than the sketchy taste in fashion I don't know what everyone's complaining about? Yeah he's pretty dull but then again so it watching the EWS. I'd say it was a match made in heaven.
(May 16, 2017 at 10:02)
: I'm not complaining about him necessarily, I just find it funny that he just always looks disheveled
(May 16, 2017 at 10:10)
: it's the Irish way to be fair. Disheveled is our natural state.
(May 16, 2017 at 14:18)
No disrespect but the US probably holds the title for "most squeaky clean presenters". This is mountain biking, I don't care if our presenters look a little rough around the edges. I think he has a nice relaxed style in appearance and his manner. No complaints here.
(May 16, 2017 at 16:52)
: I'd take the scruffy Irish guy over the Crankworx hype-jockey's any day. This coverage/footage keeps getting better too...with no redbull player!
(May 16, 2017 at 20:29)
I think that's Ric Mclaughlin... he used to be a contributor to Mountain Biking UK magazine(I'm sure he's done other things too, that's just the only thing I can remember about him).
(May 16, 2017 at 13:48)
sam hill needs WAAAAYYYY more coverage!!!!
(May 16, 2017 at 6:54)
what a beautiful place and trails. racers are real warriors, some parts are really steep and gnarly. when a country holds a EWS stage the main reason is tourism and I can tell you that after this race I need to go to Madeira! One of the most beautiful trails I have ever seen
(May 16, 2017 at 7:03)
And you can speack your own language
(May 16, 2017 at 8:01)
Agreed, stunning looking trails!
(May 16, 2017 at 10:48)
: haha to be fair, yours
(May 16, 2017 at 10:59)
: they speack Portuguese, only some minor differences
(May 16, 2017 at 12:56)
: What is this speack you speak of?
(May 16, 2017 at 14:24)
tipo isto ... trilhos do caralho!
(May 16, 2017 at 20:37)
: kkkkk Boa!!! Valew a zoação rsrsr Olha Você poderia me indicar um bom roteiro de MTB ai em Portugal? Pretendo ficar no seu pais por uma semana. Saudações
(May 18, 2017 at 2:02)
(May 16, 2017 at 10:49)
I love these videos. I wonder though if EWS will suffer though because it's nearly impossible to do a live broadcast? Road cycling can use a helicopter and motorcycles with great visibility, downhill tracks are reasonably short and can have cameras in strategic positions, but an EWS round is like having 10 full-lengths downhill races to cover. It's a shame because Enduro is arguably cycling's most applicable competitive series to mountain bikers.
(May 16, 2017 at 15:32)
It would be more applicable if it was three stages and the last one ended at a pub or brewery.
(May 16, 2017 at 17:03)
Cycling's most applicable competitive series to mountain bikers:
I think if you include all mountain bikers (not just the full-face helmet wearers) you'll find that XC is probably closer to what the majority are doing... Sure in bike parks and such it's a different story, but in general more people are riding on XC-style trails than anything else.
(May 16, 2017 at 18:43)
: Riding on XC type trails? Perhaps. Racing XC type trails... eh, really depends on where you are located. Here in the states, in the PNW there are hardly *any* XC races, and that is taking into account marathon/endurance type of XC racing. Any region that has any sort of elevation is putting together Enduro races/series because it just makes more sense. Passing on single track? Dangerous and frustrating. Chip timed segments are more and more the way it's being done these days, and really lets the fastest racer prevail.
(May 16, 2017 at 7:31)
Graves eating his rear tire should be motivational poster plastered in bike shops, schools, race venues all around the world.. madman...
(May 17, 2017 at 2:19)
and spaz would sue all of them. :b
(May 17, 2017 at 7:17)
Does anyone know what he was actually doing there?
(May 17, 2017 at 14:05)
: I feel like he was stabilizing a tire lever?
(May 26, 2017 at 3:03)
: ... or maybe biting off the end of a "maxalami"???
(May 16, 2017 at 12:31)
Mad props to Noga Corem, man she is really something, such a talented rider. Now i know i am a bit biased and all but damn i think it's about time some major brand will take her in. As a privateer ending at 3rd place i can only imagine where she would end up with a proper team besides her.
(May 16, 2017 at 21:52)
Love cheering on a privateer. Read that she was racing at Olympic level at one point. That gave some perspective to average riding wannabe lazy ol me!
(May 16, 2017 at 9:45)
So is there an address to where we can send Ric a hair comb and a razor?
(May 16, 2017 at 6:30)
Loving the coverage, fantastic stuff. Go on Greg!
(May 16, 2017 at 5:16)
Awesome edit! EWS is really nailing it with such slick coverage. I guess when the quality of racing is so high that's half the jib done...
(May 16, 2017 at 10:20)
Great video, but I feel like they could have added a lot more to the drama that this race had. The live feed had me on edge through both days with all of the lead changes. Felt like they missed a big piece of this. Seems like it would be pretty easy to add in more post run discussions that would expose more of what was happening during the stages.
(May 16, 2017 at 8:54)
Would love to see EWS go live stream, but enjoy the highlight edits.
Excellent general narration and balance between rider action and interviews (though either subtitles or removing the full face would help full comprehension).
Madeira definitely a new bullet point on the bucket list.
(May 16, 2017 at 8:35)
Lol at Richie Rude watching Jared Graves waste his CO2 cannister.
(May 16, 2017 at 9:35)
Awesome coverage! Really appreciate that this has a little more length to it. 20 Minutes for a weekend of racing seems short, but it ends up being just about perfect.
(May 16, 2017 at 11:15)
At least its not 14mins, so cant complain.
(May 16, 2017 at 12:07)
A bike with a front derailleur won again?
(May 16, 2017 at 12:40)
You may ask if he use the front derailleur in the stages...
(May 16, 2017 at 14:22)
: Of course he doesn't but he does use it between the stages.
(May 16, 2017 at 14:23)
: He does, for the climbs. Shimano XTR Di2 is programed to operate off the right hand shifter.
(May 16, 2017 at 11:00)
He went "Full YOLO"
(May 17, 2017 at 0:13)
I actually paused the video after that because I was laughing so hard
(May 16, 2017 at 11:01)
Hilarious editing at the end there with the Michael Bay breakdown. Almost expected shit to start exploding.
(May 16, 2017 at 5:32)
Madeira added to a very long bucket list
(May 17, 2017 at 13:49)
this is most sad. lame post ever... but I want the EWS intro sound track as my ringtone... what is it?? android.. not iphone.. this could be the greatest neg props ever seen on PB... But let's face it... I'm not the only one!!
(May 16, 2017 at 7:56)
Best race coverage yet. Really well put together. And how good does Madeira look?!?!?!?!
(May 16, 2017 at 14:38)
(May 16, 2017 at 21:40)
These EWS videos probably give me more stoke to ride than any video I've seen. I don't know what it is but it gets me so pumped to work on skills and fitness. Thank You!!!
(May 16, 2017 at 22:37)
Just amazed at the level of riding EWS requires. It's becoming more and more like World Cup DH without lifts.
(May 16, 2017 at 6:01)
Outstanding coverage! What a gem of a location!
(May 16, 2017 at 5:01)
Really great coverage. A good mix of coverage from all riders and some fantastic footage!
(May 16, 2017 at 11:44)
Great coverage, suddenly NEED to go to Madeira!
(May 17, 2017 at 22:47)
It looked like Rude and Graves were helping each other with that tire bite. Despite being on separate teams now, you know they will always have each others back!
(May 16, 2017 at 13:11)
Did i not saw sam hill??
(May 16, 2017 at 14:48)
...then watch again
(May 16, 2017 at 6:06)
Awesome coverage, long may it last!
(May 16, 2017 at 14:51)
Holy Moly!!!!! Dailly looks so fast and composed at this Raw Footage.... Damn need to watch again
(May 16, 2017 at 22:57)
Crushing beers watching this thinking about how I need to go full enduro.
(May 18, 2017 at 1:58)
my work colleague will not shut the f*~k up! Send help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(May 17, 2017 at 6:22)
The host has about as much enthusiam as a sloth. Enduro needs to be Tippie-fied...
(May 16, 2017 at 22:58)
Madeir' I have a chubby. Beautiful!
(May 16, 2017 at 14:28)
Ι just love these videos!
(May 16, 2017 at 16:08)
(May 16, 2017 at 11:08)
Two days of racing compressed in to 19 minutes , WTF? Surely they can put together a longer highlights edit than this.
(May 16, 2017 at 17:01)
I'm pretty happy with the amount of coverage personally - but it would be cool if in the future they included some helmet cam footage of the podium guys though, if not some full stages.
(May 17, 2017 at 9:07)
: Last year we got at least 25 minutes and longer the year before. They could do so much more, maybe a short and a longer highlights edit and some PoV would be great.
(May 16, 2017 at 8:45)
lol sensitive x
(May 17, 2017 at 4:04)
"We go on the hunt, for the world's fastest mountain biker"
No need. It's Danny Hart.
Below threshold threads are hidden
(May 16, 2017 at 7:50)
I look forward to these. Don't want to sound ungrateful with it being free and all......but any chance we could get them any earlier than Tuesday? You know if you managed to release them on Mondays I would still have a whinge. Just outta love for the coverage mind x
(May 16, 2017 at 7:57)
I'm amazed that they get it done so quickly. Unlike a live broadcast, they have to go back through and cut everything together, put scripts together, graphics, etc. Most of that stuff can't really be done beforehand, and while one or two cuts and graphics might be quick to throw together, the amount needed for a 20 minute broadcast quality episode is on another level.
