Here's your chance to win our newly released DT Swiss EXC 1200 spline wheelset!

DT Swiss rims are known for their impact resistance and we have high requirements for enduro rims. More than 20 different carbon architecture layups with different materials were tested until the impact strength met our high standards. The key factors for an impact-resistant rim are the arrangement of the individual carbon layers, the ideal ratio between resin and carbon fibres and meticulous production process control. All these factors make the EXC 1200 SPLINE one of the most impact-resistant carbon enduro rims on the market.

See for yourself and take a chance to be one of the first to ride the new wheels!

Can the winner please let me know if you ticked the box to allow DT Swiss to use your address for marketing purposes? I recon its a filter.
  • 13 1
The real question is will they sell your email anyway, since you didn't agree that it's only for marketing purposes?
  • 1 1
Can’t say much about this one, but took home a Sortie Black fitted with full XTR a few year back from Diamondback.

Everyone here hating on cf wheels, until they can win a pair ????
  • 9 0
 Not me #carbonforlife
  • 19 0
id happily try one for free, could not justify the extra cost
  • 1 0
I think the haters do a lot of noise but that doesn't mean they are the majority. I'm currently riding some alu wheelset because of budget constraints on the trail bike but my former carbon wheels (built out of chinese rims) have been much easier to lace than alu ones of comparable weight and very reliable. Can't complain.

*Everyone here hating, until they can win.

My only problem with carbon is the price. Trust it fully and see the benefits but wallet won't stretch to it most of the time. Winning is great for me and my Alu DT swiss rims are great so these are bang on by my reckoning
  • 7 0
I'd never buy a set of carbon wheels, but you can bet your ass I'd run them if I won them!
  • 2 0
Well. thing is. This is a what? €2200 set?
Thats serious money. I want to find out if theyre that good.
  • 3 0
 Free is the right price
  • 1 2
Will these work on my brand new ebike.
  • 7 0
I've always wondered about something. Most giveaway terms and conditions say that they're not responsible for any taxes and import charges etc.
Let's say I win the wheels. Even tho I didn't pay a dime from them, would customs treat it like I just ordered a wheelset for €2200? Because if that's the case and the wheels are coming from Switzerland, i'd have to pay 27% VAT and 50% (yes, that's right) import taxes. Big Grin
  • 2 1
Quite sure the wheels are not made in Switzerland. Maybe Poland? Who knows.

But do not forget your income tax declaration.
  • 2 0
Yes, that is a thing. Depends from where they are sent and to where. To Finland, sent from within EU, I wouldn't need to pay anything. Sent from outside the EU, that would be 24 % VAT and probably 6 % import duty.

Finland has a tax on cars on top of VAT, and that's why athletes who win cars in competitions in EU don't take them home, because they'd have to pay thousands of euros for their price car.

@cxfahrer: I think what matters is where they are shipped from. This is from the terms and conditions:

"DT SWISS GIVEAWAY(the “Contest”) is sponsored by DT SWISS, located at Längfeldweg 101,
2504 Biel, Switzerland (the “Sponsor”)."

So I assume the wheels would ship from Switzerland (and they're not in the EU), but that might be completely wrong.

@mikkosinisalo Ridiculous. Normally the import duty/tax whatever is around 2,5-3% here (on top of VAT), but we have this stupid 50% tariff to stop certain products "flooding in", and guess what, bikes and bike components are included. For e-bikes it's 83%. Big Grin

"The Sponsors will ship the prizing direct. The Sponsor will not be responsible for any tax or customs liability that arises in relation to the delivery of the prizing."

Wondered they be classed as a gift and therefore not taxable?

Note: I'm no accountant just taking a guess here, if I was an accountant could probably buy them instead of having to hope on a win.
  • 2 0
@JOHN8LAZE: Dunno, that's why I asked really. Big Grin When you buy something from China on eBay, Ali etc. it always says "gift" on the CN22 customs declaration form, but I don't think that matters?
  • 3 0
Worst case if you win and can’t afford the taxes, refuse to receive the package. I’ll send you my address and I’ll pay for it.
  • 1 0
@Crapalier: Cheers bud! really looking out for me there
  • 9 2
Surely the best 29er wheelset money can buy.
I’d have this over Enve any day.
  • 2 1
Seen a more than few DT cracked carbon rims so not sure they are the best by any stretch... But I agree they are probably better than Enve!
  • 1 3
@Marky771: I agree. I will however never get any others than the CrankBrothers Synthesis, because I get them 40% off, as I am sponsored by them.
  • 4 0
@Shafferd912: hell of an endorsement there fella.
  • 4 0
 @Shafferd912:
I’d want them for free if I was sponsored! They’re still making a profit out of you...
  • 2 0
@Shafferd912: is that a sponsor deal? I get 35% off Santa cruz at my shop, no sponsoring
  • 1 0
@christiaan: Well, its only the grassroots sponsorship, so no, I do not ride for them, like, on a team, but they still call it a sponsorship. I dunno what else to call it. I had to give them race results and stuff to get it.
  • 1 0
@Richt2000: Yeah, I dont ride for them or anything. Its only a grassroots sponsorship.
  • 1 0
@christiaan: And also, I get it directly from them, not from any shop. I also get like, 15-20% off yeti bikes, but that's just because I am part of a team.

 Finally!

I'd like a 26 front, 24 rear with quick release, please. Big Grin
  • 2 0
Non-boost 27.5" wheelsets already worthless, so don't worry.
  • 1 0
@PinkyScar: too bad my 2016 remedy cant be changed to boost Frown
  • 2 1
If I'd win, I would most certainly try Thema, but what's the big fuzz with carbon-wheels?
I am running DT EX 511 with i9 torch hubs and the weight ist comparable for half the prize and with the added chance that I might be able to finish a race, even if I put a bad dent in the rim...
  • 1 0
I've been riding DT Swiss wheels for a long time, but I've never tried carbon wheels.
  • 1 0
This is funny :-) I won these wheels and now I have no bike which fits to boost axles:-(((((((
