I'll trade the "make the pro wait on me" experience for airfare. Thanks!

Same, because he will literally dust me

 @eastsideride: Literally?

We were lucky enough to ride with Adam Billinghurst and Richie Schley at Whistler back in 2006. Its insane the amount of knowledge you gain from them on riding techniques and how to hit different lines and features scattered around the mountain. Airfare or wisdom equivalent to a Buddhist monk... tough call.

 Well done

See I’d trade the season pass for a chance to have TV come ride my local trails and give me a few pointers. We don’t have anything nearly as awesome in Ohio to offer as any of the trails over there in BC but it’d still be sweet lol.

Wait I thought we all did.

@dobermon: AHAH, so that's what makes him fast... nitrou… wait, methane boosts... I now have asphyxiation as my excuse for slowness. Thanks. tup

@dakine: Sorry guys, typo on the comment above. If @MOLDTRUTH wins and drops me we'll definitely need to get him some gear.
  • 6 1
@tvanderham: He'll need some gear prior to the attempt. Guarantee dude is a candidate for #FridayFails in the first 100m if he's going to attempt dropping Tommy-boy.

@tvanderham: please let moldtruth win the contest so we can watch him race you

Completely irrelevant to the contest but hoping it appeals to the Contest Gods. I actually met Mr. Vanderham's mother at Whistler this past ski season. She volunteers with WASP and was my bro-in-law's coach for one of the days of our annual family ski trip. Awesome woman, great Thomas stories (because she picked up that I like bikes...no good at riding them, but like them). Would be great to to meet the guy who's the product of those stories...

Can confirm. I worked for years with Ellen up at the Mount Seymour ski school. She's great.

He'd be bored out of mind with my lack of skill...entered.

I am interested in doing a few laps of easy does it with him on my hardtail....I am just not sure he will be interested.

@paulskibum: As in him on your bike with you? Doubling? Just like the old days with him in your newspaper delivery basket? sweet.

"One Lucky Monkey is going to win a free pass and chance to ride with Thomas Vanderham." If by with you mean general vicinity, as in he's somewhere in the geographic region, then sure. I think he'd be at the bottom of the trail by the time I get off the lift and start rolling in. Razz

We rode with Matt Hunter a few years back and I think he was out of sight before I got twenty pedal strokes in. These guys are next level quick.
Must be their bikes, right??
  • 2 1
@rrolly: RIGHT! If my stem were shorter, bars wider, hta slacker, suspension more capable, and tires knobbier, I just KNOW I could dust him! Razz

For only living 2 hours away from whistler and being an avid MTB rider, I've never actually been there. Partly because it's too expensive and partly because I've only ridden park once, although I plan to buy a season pass this summer to a different mountain.

Just moved to whistler for my first season, this would be soo fucking good! TV the man!
