Guys, it doesn't work for us on this side of the Atlantic
  • 1 0
 wait what?
  • 1 0
Because the hitch mount is different in th US, or?
  • 7 0
 Just use the 220 adaptor
  • 3 0
Why? They make a ton of adapters
  • 2 2
As an engineer I refuse to concur
  • 1 0
@oldfaith: As someone who is not using their hitch to tow anything, merely to hang a rack and bike off the back, I disregard your concern about adapters. I get it. I do. Leverage and all that but we are talking a rack and a bike or two. Adapters, quality adapters, are just fine.

I have no idea what this is but it's free, sooo...
  • 5 0
 Its a bike rack.
  • 5 0
It's to hold your TV and several beers. You could also use it for a bike, I guess.
  • 8 3
Does anyone actually win this stuff?
  • 4 5
Yeah...i feel the same way...they never announce the winner. Maybe it's a big scam to get more traffic on the website.
  • 1 1
@wwwwww: The pink bike crew is rocking all the cool stuff
  • 10 0
Geez. This stuff again? It’s like this year after year. Yes, people win. No, it is not a scam. When people win and accept the prize, they post it on the calendar. For the millionth time.
  • 1 0
@TheR: so know one has done it yet?
  • 2 0
@20060713: You mean no one? I don’t know, man. But every year, they post the winners, eventually.
  • 1 0
I was wondering the same. Do they draw winners every day?
  • 1 0
@taythecoug: typically winners get announced all throughout, usually within a few days of each drawing. Seems to be some kind of glitch this year.
  • 1 0
@DrPete: I don't know. I think it always starts out slow, and then the updates come quickly after they start posting.
  • 3 1
@TheR: yep seems like every year about this time the whiners come out expecting they should have won meanwhile there are probably hundreds of thousands of entry's so the chance of them winning is next to nil. I personally like the ones that write long sap stories of why they specifically need the prize like its gonna win favor for them meanwhile its a completely random draw lol
  • 1 0
@mhoshal: Yeah, I'm sure a lot of people don't understand the odds here. If 1,000 people enter the drawing, you have a 99.9 percent chance of not winning. I'm sure far more people enter the drawing than that, so...
  • 5 0
I won a year's supply of Hutchinson tires a few years ago. Pinkbike came through.
  • 1 0
@TheR: According to the Pink Bike "friend finder" there are 1688914 accounts so...
  • 1 0
@BobbyLite: I'm sure far fewer than that visit the site and enter the contest every day, but even if it's a tenth or a hundredth of that, the odds are not with you. At all.
  • 1 0
I won this one. Just got the email last night.
  • 1 0
 @sternomac: *sigh* congratulations..
  • 1 0
I'd rock a Kuat rack... except they are limited to a 48" wheelbase! That means that any modern trail/enduro/DH bike that's a longer medium or normal large frame won't even fit on this rack.
  • 1 0
Ummm...ive hauled an XL sb130 on mine...just fine
  • 1 0
@gooutsidetoday: interesting! I briefly had a Sherpa and my bike hung off the back of the tray, and I've talked directly to Kuat who said that the racks haven't changed in length and are still limited to 48" max to work correctly.
  • 2 0
man id love to not have to take my wheels off and put my bike in the car anymore
  • 1 0
Ya, so would i. The bike rack I have now, it is from 1994. I trusted it once, my bike flew off in the middle of the road, and I will never trust it again. Now I have to stick to taking my wheels off every time I take my bike out for a ride.

 @20060713: #vanlife
I can fit my enduro and my son's 24" in a Toyota sienna during dry season. I modified a cheapy rack and made my own trays for long trips. I spent maybe 40 dollars total.
  • 2 0
Everyone in Europe is a little gutted about this one!
  • 2 0
Why? Maybe I'm missing something but dont you just need the correct tow bar receiver for it? Granted 2" is not so common as standard but as aftermarket I've seen a few around.
  • 1 0
@Riggbeck: iirc the sort of receiver you need isn't certified for use over this way, so can lead to insurance, MOT* and the like issues if things every went wrong. Happy to be corrected though!

*vehicle testing
  • 1 0
@scottishmark: Good to know. Might depend on vehicle class or be country specific, in my experience the German TUV is much easier to pass than the MOT! Looks like a great rack otherwise.
  • 2 0
@Riggbeck: You can eventually put it on your car but you're not allowed to drive around like that in EU. Your car plates anf lights are not visible enough
  • 2 2
@scottishmark: Your hitch interface for a bike rack can seriously impact how your car insurance works? Damn, like the circle jerk always goes in the favor of European health care, but that is just crazy, we have nothing like that for american auto insurance.
  • 2 0
@pbfan08: I'd give up 2" receivers in a heart beat to be insured by a British company instead of ICBC in BC.
  • 2 0
@pbfan08: I bet you do, call your insurer about using kit not approved for US roads and see what they say. EU and US just tend to use a different hitch design, it’s noticing exciting
  • 2 0
I’m really hooked on the idea of having one of those
  • 5 1
Are you married? If not, you can't have one. It only works for those who've gotten hitched.
  • 1 0
 @rrolly: Kuat it you two!
  • 1 0
ayeee, I'm in the market for a good, modern rack...this made me a little wet.
  • 1 0
if there's one thing in the Advent Calendar i could really use, it's this! been dying to get a new Kuat rack for ages.
  • 2 0

  • 1 0
Oh please. I’ll take this one over every other prize combined
  • 1 0
Anybody knows when the winners will be annonced?
  • 1 0
It said that the winners will be announced 48 hours after each prize.
  • 1 0
@20060713: Ok, Just can't find winners page!
  • 1 0
@3riders: ya, i know. I think they screwed it up this year. Maybe a glitch. I am not complianing though. Any chance to win free stuff, I will accept
  • 1 0
 @20060713: Exact! Freebies FTW! Cheers
  • 1 0
