Dec 15, 2019
by Pinkbike Staff

CONTEST NOW CLOSED. The winner of the POC Helmets & Sunglasses is Pinkbike user samshallard .
Congratulations samshallard

Prize Details:

The Tectal Race SPIN helmet and Crave Clarity sunglasses are designed to provide complete
protection for the head and eyes every time you hit the trails.

With extended protection around the temples and back of the head, the helmet provides
extra protection where it is needed most. The helmet ventilation is wind-tunnel tested to
ensure your head stays as cool as possible.

Aramid bridges feature in the helmet liner to enhance structural stability and to enhance
penetration protection. SPIN (Shearing Pads INside), our patent-pending silicone pad
technology system also features, ensuring the helmet delivers superior levels of comfort, fit
and performance.

The Crave Clarity Sunglasses feature a lightweight, flexible and durable grilamid frame with
snap-in hinges that pop out in a crash, reducing the chance of injury to your face and
minimizing damage to the frames.

We developed Clarity lens technology in partnership with optical industry leaders Carl Zeiss.
The lenses filter specific peaks in the color spectrum to optimize vision for trail riding,
enhancing the greens and browns associated with the trail environment, letting you react
more quickly to changes in your surroundings.

The Prize Includes:

• Tectal Race Spin helmet in hydrogen white/uranium black
• Translucent Crave Clarity sunglasses
• MSRP $495 USD

You got rectal helmets? And then they spin? Seems like you're being screwed.

@vinay: Exactly what I told the dude at the bike shop when I was looking at one several months ago.

My wife saw the new purple Deity Knuckledusters & asked for one.
She thought it was a good deal to get 2 for 1. #filthymindnoexcuse

 I'm surprised MSRP isn't $1000.00 USD
  • 8 2
I think the Msrp prices are just imaginary to make pb users feel more special when they win it. (If they do actually win?)
  • 7 1
Oh my sunglasses, they're made from bajillioneranium, so...........you know.

With those glasses I could look like Bono

POC stuff is really nice, but unfortunately they don't back it up with availability of spare lenses. The Crave is supposedly designed for mountain biking, but doesn't ship with a clear lens, and the spare lenses have been out of stock for almost a year.

 Loose stools clear pools.

 Does anyone ever win these?
  • 6 3
you're lucky, all of the winners so far are all Americans, and two Canadians, so your chances are far higher than mine.
  • 3 3
 Where are the winners listed????

@audeo03: Go to www.pinkbike.com/contest/advent and there is a small button over each day with "View Winner".

Lots of things on Pinkbike get won and never announced in a big way - heck, I won a whole bike and I don't think there was ever any mention of it (which is fine by me honestly).

my poc helmet is made in china,,, i hate paying a premium price for a chinese product
  • 3 0
Almost everything you own was made in China... your computer, phone, bike, etc...

My email must be broken. I have been super good all year.

Those glasses really have translucent glass. No bricks.
  • 3 1
Translucent glasses have much higher performance for the intended purpose than not translucent ones. All great glasses wearing riders stick with translucent glasses. If you want to do great and wear glasses, you need translucent glasses.

Looking for a job in marketing. Could do the influencer thingy too. Did you like this article? Click the green button up right.

Disclaimer: I'm getting 50% from each pair of glasses sold. There is currently insufficient performance data from athletes riding with brick lenses in their glasses nor is there any evidence of any manufacturer of having performed decent lab testing with brick lenses hence no fair comparison could be made.
