Ran into Wyn Masters and George Branigan yesterday and it made me realize that the pros can be just as decent people as anyone. Good luck. Send it for the boys.

Why would you not think this anyway?
  • 13 3
@ajayflex: Exactly. They aren't making rockstar money, they haven't got people telling them what they want to hear 24/7. They are normal guys doing a slightly unusual job.
  • 6 5
@ajayflex: Some pro's are so far up their own asses they think they are better than everyone else. i can think of a few off the top of my head...
  • 25 3
@dugcarch: plenty of non-pros are also quite far up their own arses. Whats your point?
  • 4 3
 @ajayflex: Well put.
  • 8 0
@ajayflex: The people have big asses?
  • 2 1
@ajayflex: yup that's true, the MTB world is generally full of nice people but some are dicks! my point was just because someone is pro doesn't mean they are a decent person, which your initial comment seemed to contradict... what is your point exactly?
  • 2 2
@dugcarch: not just a “Pro” thing. There is jack asses like that everywhere in life.

No.78 Greg Minnaar...Seven past wins, can he make it No. 8 Great irony in his race entry number, NEVER RIGHT OFF GREG MINNAAR

No to be a dick - it's write off, but maybe you're using it as a new slang - like "Don't right Minnaar off", meaning "Don't piss him off! " You'll get the same result!
  • 7 1
 @neimbc: *not
  • 5 0
@Vulhelm: How do you know he didn't mean, "No, to be a dick..."?
  • 1 2
@wpplayer18: Not - it was a typo - Not to be a dick - just trying to be a decent guy here
  • 19 3

Its pissing harder than a two cunted cow on a flat rock.
  • 3 6
@Boardlife69: Just curious - why would a flt rock make them piss harder?
  • 4 7

@neimbc: Its a Rob Warner quote. Ask him. I guess because it splatters back up? But one thing I'm sure about is the mud riders will be letting it all hang out like a fat chick in a bikini. GO DANNY!!

This is one of his best tracks.
  • 4 0
I’m pretty sure it’s harder to read on Scribd, than it is to make it down a proper DH track. Thanks for keeping my skills sharp!!
  • 7 2
Good to see Kaos Seagrave back on the list
  • 4 1
In the fantasy roster Jure Zabjek is spelled Jure Jabjek, did Warner type it?
  • 3 0
probably was Wyn, still can't pronounce his name. Zipjeck?
  • 4 1
Man looking at those DOB's it certainly is a young man's sport. Gotta admire the older gen still pushing.
  • 2 0
It's about skill, fitness, fearlessness and reaction times. Only one of those things is improved by being older (skill). Big shout out to the older guys still competing at the highest level, huge effort and commitment for so many years.
  • 1 0
@Patrick9-32: I don't think fitness sigificantly degrades before you are mid 40s if you train consistently. Most marathon runners are early 30s by the time they peak and that is a high impact sport. I think sports that are low impact like cycling can have guys who are very fit well into their 30s and even 40s if they can maintain the motivation. That's probably the first thing to go really. Risk taking probably takes a hit alright.
  • 1 0
@humoroususername: The "If you train consistently" part of your comment is key. Recovery from injuries which are part and parcel of DH means there is long periods where riders are not able to train. That knocks back older riders significantly more than it does younger guys who heal quicker and regain their fitness quicker too.

Marathon running isn't comparable fitness to DH. a 4 minute max effort compared to over two hours uses a completely different fitness system (aerobic vs anaerobic). A top 800m runner would not do well in a marathon race and a top marathon runner would not do well in a middle distance race. They are basically entirely different disciplines.
