Time to find out who's racing in Maribor. All the usual suspects are ready to race with one big exception - Martin Maes. The winner of last round of 2018 does not appear to have submitted an entry for this first race of the year.

You have until elite men's qualifying starts on Saturday afternoon to get your Fantasy team in order so take a scan through the list and make your final changes before racing begins

The Fantasy Downhill League is Presented by Trek and SRAM.

... had to double take when I saw Danilo Petrucci on the start list, making the swap over from Moto GP ! haha
  • 5 0
 He's his brother!
  • 1 0
@eeba: really?! thats cool if he is!
  • 27 1
 No Martin Maes, bummer!
  • 4 1
I saw that too. Can someone confirm if Maes is racing or not. Might need to make some changes on my fantasy team before its too late.
  • 1 0
Martin is on my fantasy list. :'(
  • 8 0
@Boardlife69: This list is the confirming piece and no worries, you still got time to change your team...
  • 2 0
@Boardlife69: I believe he will race some DH races, but is still committed to Enduro first.
  • 3 0
@picowatt: specially after crushing it on first 2 rounds
  • 1 0
I guess winning the first two rounds means he's focused on winning the series. Hopefully we'll see him later in the season if he wraps up the title early.
  • 3 0
@bulletbassman: if there is a DH race in between a long break of Enduro he may race one. If not you are probably right. He will show up at the end of the season and make it look easy.
  • 1 0
@dobermon: Minnaar makes me younger than you...old man g>
  • 1 0
he doesn't start, but I am pretty sure he will win this race!
  • 23 0
Matt Simmonds racing on the new Cannondale
  • 41 1
 Can we pick him twice?
  • 17 3
@Boardlife69: That would be a 3rd shock associated with that bike if he wins!

(no disrespect to Matt, who is superfast and has several podiums under his belt, but tall order on new bike after season doing enduro)
  • 14 4
@Footey72: True, that Martin Maes fella has really struggled to destroy the DH field coming from enduroing
  • 21 0
Can we censor YOB column? I feel old haha.
  • 9 0
Listen to YOB and you will feel ageless Smile

Minnaar is my age, so there is still hope for me lol
  • 1 1
When you read the whole list and only Greg is older than you *

*actually he isnt, but we are at least in the same year at school
  • 2 0
It's the ones that weren't even born in the same century as me...
  • 2 0
@lacuna: ah dude, a few centurys younger or older, what's the matter Smile
  • 13 0
Pinkbike please update Fantasy League Rider list, at least Womens category. I really missing Morgane Charre in womens field. She will be strong contender for classic DH ladies.
  • 1 0
 GO UP!!!
  • 1 0
@Bobo-San: what do you mean? I wanna pick Morgan Charre
  • 13 1
 No hill or maes. Bummer
  • 8 1
only 1 guy born same year as me and he is the GOAT. Coincidence?

  • 2 0
 just like you planned
  • 5 1
so you are born 76 like Nico V.?
  • 9 2
Gahh Sribd crashed my phone twice! Please stop using it PB
  • 10 2
 Boo no Sam Hill
  • 3 0
 I didn't see a listing for Fabio's Cousin.
  • 4 1
impressive as the average age of women is much higher than that of men
  • 3 2
Not really considering the amount of male riders compared to female riders.
  • 4 3
Interesting that no single team has a senior male, senior female, junior male and junior female.

You’d have thought they’d enter as many categories as they could
  • 4 0
It‘s quite nice for the mechanics not to have to have a bike ready for every single session of the weekend.
  • 1 0
Between Maes, Sam Hill, and Mariam Nicole being out, I've had to re-pick my team 3 times now ... thank goodness I can still make changes haha
  • 2 0
Brosnan and Walker are my picks along with Manson. I have confidence in all three of those riders
  • 3 0
DOB list! Man I feel old.
  • 4 4
Anyone know why Kate Weatherly is not on start list? She recently suggested she was racing Maribor and I have her in my fantasy team?
  • 3 1
over 10% of the total entries are Great Britain! Wow!
  • 2 0
what about the french ?! Smile 46/269 riders, crazy
  • 2 0
Why not just copy and paste the list, why use scribd?
  • 8 8
Wow, 34 females racing compared to 167 males and only 7 juniors compared to 68 males
  • 39 17
And where are the other 5 genders? Why are they not represented? White male privilege at its würst. Which reminds me, I need to stock up on beer and meat for our WCDH BBQ as we bath in our own toxic masculinity rooting for the FASTEST riders on the planet. Instead of going all SJW on the internet one could recruit and train the others so that they can gain the speed, skill and talent to race at the WC level. Just a thought.
  • 1 4
 @Boardlife69: 5 genders? I know 3
  • 13 6
@vhdh666: nonbinary and deminonbinary are just two of the many others. genderfluidsupport.tumblr.com/gender
I'm not trying to be mean here, just making a joke. If somone is a semi nonbinary demi girl and wants to race at the WC level then more power to them and I wish them good luck. I'm just trying to point out that it has more to do with speed and not gender. Time is not biased.

The women are sooooooo slooooow.. They can barely match the times of worst male riders.. Why are they taking up all that space? Because it's all about making you buy new mountain bikes and sponsored products.
  • 27 2
@RudeDH: I've ridden with some on the junior women and they still smoke me. Sit yo ass down

@Boardlife69: there are two genders: male and female. Anything else is a mental illness.
  • 3 1
Guessing there would be more females racing if they received more funding to get to these events. Yes, I realize there are likely a lot of privateers on the men's side, but guessing the funding goes deeper.
  • 5 0
@RCederholm: Actually its hard for men to get funding as well, so don't necessarily agree. Im thinking maybe women need more encouragement though maybe not just monetary.
  • 1 0
 @Boardlife69: thanks! that‘s interesting
  • 1 0
#155 Ropo back in WC. Yes!!!
  • 1 1
 No Greg Minnaar...?
  • 5 0
Nevermind. Guess my old eyes didn't see him at first. Almost gave myself a conniption...whew
  • 1 3
@Boardlife69: What happens too time if the world slows down or even speeds up, as time is based on 24 hours in a day?
  • 3 0
NASA and the other space agencies are actually looking as far ahead as they can to measure and predict change in speed of rotation of the earth. Satellite clock time (GST) is actually updated daily to account for any change in movement of the earth. They use this clock on the ISS so I think we are covered.

Worry not, my child, your time will come too.
