e.thirteen athletes finish strong in 2007

e.thirteen athletes crowded the podium once again for the final round of the 2007 Nissan UCI World Cup series in Maribor, Slovenia. Riders with e.thirteen chain retention systems faired extremely well this year—despite seeing some of the worst weather conditions in recent history on the circuit. e.thirteen product stood up to the weather and muddy courses, helping make the world's best ride even better. In 2007, riders aboard e.thirteen products took nine World Cup victories, two overall World Cup titles and five World Championship titles.

Sam Hill and Sabrina Jonnier locked up the elite men's and women's titles at the last World Cup of the year. Sabrina finished up in Maribor in sixth place, which retained her lead over second place finisher (and second place overall) Tracy Moseley by 130 points. Aside from her finish in Maribor, Sabrina hasn't finished in less than third place in a World Cup event this year, taking two wins at Vigo and Mont Sainte Anne. Sabrina also claimed the World Champion title last weekend in Fort William, Scotland, successfully defending her title.


Sam Hill topped off his incredible season with another win in Slovenia. Sam snapped up the top spot in qualifying, then continued to own it in Maribor by finishing two seconds ahead of the rest of the men's elite DH field. Of the top ten elite men DH riders, seven of the ten were using chain devices—and five of those seven were running e.thirteen chain retention systems.

2007 was Sam Hill's first World Cup overall title in the elite category. He achieved this goal with total authority, finishing overall with 1057 points, well beyond the rest of the men's field (Matti Lehikoinen finished in second place overall with 673 points). The 2007 season has been filled with some amazing races and stunning victories for Sam and the rest of the e.thirteen athletes.

Rachel Atherton also ended the season on a high note. After suffering a broken arm earlier this year at Vigo, she was able to come back strong toward the end of the race season to take first place in the women's elite DH race in Maribor. Rachel was joined on the podium by another e.thirteen athlete, Tracy Moseley, who finished in second place in Maribor, and overall in the World Cup series.


Mountaincross saw multiple members of the e.thirteen squad on the podium in Slovenia, with Mio Suemasa in second place for the women and Dan Atheron in third place for men's. Mio Suemasa's second place finish in Maribor was good enough to bring her into third place overall for women's mountaincross. Jill Kintner ended up with second place overall after a tough crash and a fifth place finish in Maribor. Jared Graves and Gee Atherton also stacked up strong overall finishes for the World Cup series with third and fifth place standings, respectively.
