Etnies has released its first clipless MTB shoe with the Camber CL.
The new Camber CL follows on from the brand's past
Camber Crank and Semenuk flat pedal shoes, but this time it is an offering for riders looking to stay clipped in. For the soles, Etnies has used its Formula G rubber with a tread pattern that it claims has been specifically designed for clipless pedals.
Up top the Camber CL features an Exo-Shield upper that should be lightweight, breathable and offer some protection while out riding. Etnies has also paired a lace-up design with a velcro strap for an extra level of security.
The Etnies Camber CL is available now in many locations for $185.99, and will be available in Europe from March 2022. You can find out more

Lots and lots of goofy ass shoes being Mfg!
We do know however that most road and XC shoes have cleat mounts sitting far ahead in the shoe, under the ball of the foot. Elite BMX racers use road racing, eventually XC racing shoes as they are the stiffest. We also know that majority of DH racers put their cleats as far back (midfoot) as it gets. finally dirt/street BMXers ride flats midfoot... so are we arguing that Vans tried to make an efficient shoe? No, they were just incompetent. So is anybody making shoes with cleats that are not mounted midfoot. Actually Shimano has their shoes with cleats furthest back from racy shoe types.
Back to the future..
Cool, but crap unless you liked riding on your toes.
Please explain… I liked these. Sole was a bit too stiff but a good shoe for the rest, and not as ugly as 99.9% of all other mtb shoes.
Vans could easily do a proper working & good looking mtb shoe, but somehow they refuse.
Aaah, I get it..!!
I used 'em as flats. Looks like we share the same passion. I've been trying to reach out to Vans multiple times over Instagram etc. to push 'em a bit. I really like this latest Etnies shoe, but it would've been cooler if it said Vans on there, and even more cool if it was a flat pedal shoe, haha!
Yeah I have those too. The Cult ones. Feel pretty good for like riding smooth bike park jumps and stuff like that, but for more enduro style riding I'd prefer a bit more of an mtb shoe.
