why Francisco Pardal haven't been riding with the portuguese flag sleeve as he's current Portuguese National Champion? I could see other riders 've been riding in national jerseys (if they race as national team) or with national sleeves (if they're nationals champs) and as we could see UEC Commissaire told him to change his jersey few minutes after his race run. Shouldn't this happpen at the start gate? UCI rules article 1.3.059 and 1.3.069 inform that current national champions have to race in the national sleeve, otherwise it's DSQ.

Found that, UEC follow UCI rules so it's said: "1.3.059 The wearing of national team clothing shall be mandatory: - at world championships - at continental championships - for the riders of a national team [...] The continental and national champions must comply with this rule and wear their national team clothing while participating in the events cited here before. 1.3.069 However, under the prior approval of the concerned National Federation and instead of wearing a traditional national champions jersey in the sense of the provision 1.3.068, the national champions in MTB DHI, MTB 4X and BMX have the possibility to wear a distinct national champion jersey with the left arm sleeve representing the flag of the rider’s country. No advertising is authorized on that left arm sleeve of the national champion jersey." So even no sponsors logos are allowed on the left sleeve... he had

@KubaGzela: good to have one with the rulebook nearby -not. he was fastest accept it. what an a**holery cant believe it.

@optimumnotmaximum: I agree and without the doubt he was the fastest. But look at it from different side. For lot of riders European Champs are the most important race of the season, as well for their sponsors and teams. All of them are sticked to the rules and can't race in their official team jerseys, while others did.

@KubaGzela: EC are almost worthless, probably the reason no tier 1 racer ever races them. Just look at the feed, probably half of the riders wore their normal (sponsor) kit. And guess what - after 1min on the muddy course noone could see the logos anyway...
