Recently the old school hardtail company known as Evil has stepped it up, and announced that they are going to be creating a downhill bike to rule them all - the Revolt. In conjunction with Dave Weagle, Evil bikes has come up with the DELTAsystem, a suspension patent that utilizes 203mm of travel, and sets a benchmark for performance and tunability.Evil has set the bar for the first year of production by not only revamping the company line up, but releasing the new Revolt prototype, which was designed in conjunction with Dave Weagle. The DELTAsystem is the all new suspension system designed by Dave, who was previously famous for his DW-Link suspension design.

Evil has released the first spy shots of their Revolt, the 203mm Downhill rig that Steve Smith will be piloting this year. Kevin Walsh, Evil bikes president recently had the first creation of the Revolt, which is a very clean looking bike. A small side note, Steve Smith will be riding for Fox Shox, Formula Brakes, and Gravity Components this year. Prior to this deal Steve was on a SRAM, Cove team, so it should be interesting to see where Evil takes young Steve.

The first public showing of the Evil Revolt will be at the Core Bike Show in the UK this weekend, accompanied by Gabe Fox, so swing by and take a peek at the new Evil Revolt.

What is the DELTAsystem?
Born of high expectations, the DELTA system is the third cycling-specific suspension engineered by Dave Weagle, one of the world's leading authorities on integrated suspension design. This new system promises to live up to those expectations backed up with the pedigree of multiple World Cup and World Championship titles. The heart of this new patent pending design is a compact linkage system that allows tunability for virtually any wheel rate that can be imagined. Integration with air springs or shocks is just the beginning. The system allows infinite frame geometry adjustment without any compromise or change to leverage and wheel rates. This unique feature allows riders to dial in their frame geometry and ride the way that they like it, and still maintain factory level suspension performance. The DELTA system is owned exclusively by Evil Bikes and is pending patent worldwide.

Blows away my expectations for this bike. Can't wait to see steve smith on this.

lovely. hope it breaks the evil stereotype of all their bikes weighing as much as a bradly fighting vehicle. lol
  • 1 0
that bike is nice and so clean
  • 1 0
now that is a bike i would ride Razz
  • 2 1
I admit I was skeptical but HOT BUTTER!
  • 3 0
Isnt this the bike that Thomas Vanderham will be riding??
  • 2 0
oh so this is the beast. Now I understand why they changed! lol
  • 0 0
don't really know about the seat tube-top tube join, but other then that its pretty frikin sick!
  • 0 0
The top tube hydro-formed see so they can make the end of it super wide if they want, like a rectangle. Thats what they did and this way when its welded to the seattube, there is more welding area meaning a stronger weld.

and dont bother saying read the ad... i wont just tell me plz
  • 3 1
umm, there fox 40s. so 8 inches... not anyting different that are on pretty much any dh bike made in recent years...
  • 2 0
reminds me of a commencal....may not have the same suspension etc but it just looks like the older model (last years)
  • 1 0
kinda take that back...this bike does however look badass
  • 0 3
It's just missing a front derailleur, or that hammerschmidtzki thing! Just kiddin(kind of)
  • 2 2
Icstay10, even if the bike is heavy, look at yeti their bikes are always heavier. HMMMM i wounder y????maybe because they dont want them to BREAK. Just the other day wile i was in at my LBS i saw a big hit snapped off at the head tube.....just goes to say that lighter isn't always better
  • 2 1
I understand your point NWray but BigHits are not light. The reason the BigHit snapped is its an old design with not very good welding technology.
  • 2 0
thats the most bullshit answer i've ever heard. it snapped because it was ridden for a long time and nobody looked for cracks in obvious places.
  • 2 0
it looks similar to sunn radical but i guess likange and eveyhing is deiffernd, buty sick bike, i would like to have a ride with it.
  • 1 0
woa, looks like a cross between a sunn and a commencal!
  • 1 1
Nice to have you back bigtard!!!
  • 10 0
A black frame over a black background? Who thought that was a good idea?
  • 4 0
I tried to comprehend how it works. Then brain exploded.
  • 0 0
My Bad for some reason I thought it was this design. in this link. Sorry and all you trash talker sorry about mentioning my Session 88 But I also have a Kona Stab Prototype. So Go screw your self trash talker. I made a mistake kind of, Here is a link on pink bike I thought they were using. To bad it would be a smart move on Dave part to use it. But he is one of the smartest men in the industry, it will be used soon enough.

it's a nice bike for sure, but it's just another expensive single-pivot-with-a-linkage frame, why the hype?

how is this in any meaningfull way, different from a commencal? (also nice)

all i'm saying is, there really isn't any reason to lose control of your bladder.
  • 2 0
lcstay10 - who says evils are heavy? the imperial is the strongest frame ever made and it weighs just over 6#. their other two steel frames were also just over 6#.
  • 4 0
It is a single pivot right?
  • 1 1
I'm glad for Evil - the Imperial was/is off the hook. But I'm not feeling the new bike as much - it looks like all the other bikes out there. Canfield still makes "the better" of the bikes though

canfield's a turd dude. this bikes designed by an engineer. one that knows whats up. you won't see a canfield win any races. but you'll see this bike do it
  • 4 1
can you guess why smart ass..canfield is a small company which doesnt have own racing team..i believe that people are going to see jedi riders on the podium in the future..

no it's because they're friggin pogostick freeride bikes.
a shitty vpp/dw link copy that doesn't have the geometries figured out right
  • 1 0
you should learn a bit about canfields suspension design before posting bs comments and comparing it to vpp and DW link.
  • 0 1
its a double link, floating rear end suspension. that makes it similar to a vpp and a dw link.
maybe you're too smart to notice the obvious?
you're right though they aren't totally similar.
the vpp and dw link uses carefully though out mathematics to come up with their system.
instead of random stabs in the dark like the canfield
  • 1 0
"its a double link, floating rear end suspension. that makes it similar to a vpp and a dw link" thats true, but there is still few big differences (extremely rearward axlepath, progression curve, amount of pedal kickback and chain extension) compared to vpp,and especially DW link in which shock is mounted to lower link..why you say their designs are random stabs? they have been developing parallel link suspensions much longer than SC or other brands selling vpp/vpp style bikes..imo they are well designed bikes, and they aint freakin mass products like other big brand bikes..
  • 1 0
It doesn't matter what the specs are and how the design is - IT LOOKS LIKE OTHER BIKES OUT THERE - PERIOD. It doesn't look different like the Imperial was (great frame). YOu can all give me a song and dance about why its such a great bike or it's technology - but who really gives a crap? It's all about the rider - no matter what bike he/her has between their legs - weather it be a Canfield, an Intense, an Evil. And the guy that said, he won't see Canfield win any races - who gives a F..K?" So if you saw a top pro rider on a Canfield winning races, then that would be accpetable? Or see a big article in any magazine - then i'm sure you will give it props.
  • 0 2
give sam hill a canfield and i seriously doubt he'd be as successful as on the sunday. just how i'm sure he won't be as successful on his new demo 8 bike.
and no, i don't give a f*ck what a magazine says about a bike, i don't have that much faith that you'd be getting a totally honest opinion since it's all about advertising dollars.
but i would look at what the top pro's are winning on, why wouldn't you?
  • 2 0
finally some companies are going away from that Vps/kona technology...THATS OLD SHIT THANK GOD WER MOVIN ON
  • 0 0
i went to my local bike shop here in seattle last week as it was closing to get a part, and they had a few of these being built in there, they were a lttle upset that I saw them, but they were freaking awesome

wow. it's good to see stevie riding this beast. I think he has more potential than any rider out there. that DOES NOT mean I think he is the best right now.
  • 0 0
its so sick i got to see the bike in person and the headtube has a peice that flips around to change the head angle by 2 degrees
  • 2 0
 thing of beauty
  • 0 3
The design is very similar to my Trek Session 88 with the rear pivot at the axle. This will let the brake caliper float very smart idea that Trek And Dave came up with at the sametime. I just wornder if it will be as light as my Session.
  • 1 0
 What rear pivot?
  • 3 5
the one with your mom in it ROFL jk
  • 1 0
looks like a solid rear end to me.
  • 2 0
Dude what bike are you looking at? There's no pivot at the rear axle.
  • 0 0
he just wanted to say he had a session 88. like anyone really cares what he has. BTY its a single pivot
