Course Preview Video - EWS Colombia 2018

by Enduro World Series

The Enduro World Series has landed in Colombia for round two and this weekend's race could not be more different to last week's season opener in Chile. Long, dry, dusty stages have been replaced by short, flowy singletrack deep in the rainforest of the surrounding hills. The race starts with an urban downhill stage in the center of Manizales city - this is the EWS as you've never seen it before. Ric McLaughlin and Chris Ball slip and slide their way around the course in one of the wildest course previews to date.

Those courses look like an absolute riot! The amount of diversity in locations and even stages in a single event is very cool as well. That urban stage is going to mess with riders heads.

That stage 8 is gonna full speed blast to the finish with only 32m descent and 0.5 km

Hell yeah. How’s that bit of trail where the boys get barrelled??!!!

@A813H: One of the national enduros i Norway have a super short stage as the last one. Trouble is that you start out with a speed you can normally hold for that distance, but since your legs are cooked from the whole race, you are full of lactic acid after 200 meters. So it's gonna be exciting.

I love living in Manizales half the year as well as Las Vegas. The canvas that the trail builders have to work with here is limitless and will only get better with time as the community creates endless trails in these surrounding mountains. I can jump on my bike from my home in the city and be on some of these trails in a short 10 minute pedal. This is the most fanatic Mountain bike community.....group night rides can easily have 100-200 plus people a few times each week .The biggest reward living here is the Colombian people themselves as they are the most amazing and humble culture in the world and smiles for miles on their faces.

@skinnybex: I've dreamed about owning a coffee orchard in Colombia and building trails. Creating a mt biker and coffee enthusiast tourist destination.
Glad to hear there is a strong mtb community.

@vandall: It wouldn't be difficult at all. The Caldas region is abundant with opportunities to own property relatively cheap and the locals I'm sure would enjoy the chance to help spurn the local economy.

Wow, that sounds like a great community. @skinnybex:

As much as I love seeing WCDH on the classic tracks, the diversity of the EWS locations is just stunning. Chile, Columbia, Italy, New Zealand, Canada etc... Its just so much more interesting.

The trails look amazing and I love that they put the interactions with the local people in the video too. It shows how stoked the community is to have the EWS but even without EWS, seems like Colombia is a hidden gem for MTB.

This country has an unlimited ceiling for potential growth for Mountain biking. Such an amazing country in more ways then anyone could ever Imagine.

would expect Joe Barns to do well on those tracks. love the urban stage

With the urban DH stage on Saturday, riders like local Gutierrez, Rude, Hill, Graves, Ratboy, the Masters Bros will definitely get good timings. The scenery there is fantastic and people are very nice to tourists. You see many cops but it is just for the safety of the riders and to keep everything in place and avoid those pretty expensive bikes from ending in the wrong hands. The stages look easy, but they are riding at 2100+ meters above sea level.... Rumble in the Jungle!

 You the real MVP.

I think you must nail the course to win,no errors allowed cos all trails are short and fast. I see a ton of falls coming whit all the guys trying to take the 1st place of this"easy" EWS. Interesting race that´s for sure!

We just need Danny Hart to watch this and say fk that, I’m going Enduro. Then Phil Atwill and Brendan Kerr. The sport will collapse and Peaty will be sitting with Minnaar, drinking 5th piss beer and crying “not a real sport, it’s gooone, it’s all goooone! Can’t you seeeeee!” I tell you what Steve, Listen, listen, bhweeeeep, yyyh yyyh... I am calling California, I want that 32” V10 on graphene wheels, bwleeeeeeehhhh!”, bbb bbb Gregg, yehhh, am, am, but Gwinny will... smack!” Why did you bring up Gwinny?! What the F, blweeeeeeh!
