Two videos coming from different angles at the fourth round of the Enduro World Series in Samoëns. The first; people getting it right, looking at the different line choices the top men take through the same section. The second, when it all goes wrong! Crashes galore. Big over-the-bars, flings into the bushes and poles between the legs, what more do you want?
Not that i know from personal experience or anything but it looks like he dropped his right foot which then made contact with a raised part of the ground, basically jamming his foot into the ground which then threw him over.
Haha, all three sound plausible but after a better view on a bigger screen I think I'll pick the sudden traction on the front wheel. Either way, nasty crash
Would be nice to use this ghost rider stuff to show the top 10 WC DH guys crossing the finishing line so you can actually see how much distance the few seconds that covers the top 10 is on track.
I appreciate the effort but the first one was lame. Sure.maybe it was difficult in real life but it looked like expert class at a local dh race to me. The otb at the start if the second was a corker though!
The crashes at 17s and 34s - yet more reasons for flat pedals! That could seriously mess up your ankle, dragging the bike like that - I remember Peaty doing just that in the 4X at Fort William years ago, massive OTB and the resulting sprain cost him the DH the next day as he couldn't ride very fast. Give me my flats for DH, Enduro and XC!
This argument is pretty irrational, a couple of crashes and one incident in the past you can recall means flats are generally better than clips? I wonder how many races have been won or lost by tiny margins due to people using clips or flats? My personal experience of the matter is that clips have saved my bacon a few times by keeping my foot on the pedal in a situation that may have blown them off if I was on flats.
Different strokes for different folks, run your flats, I don't mind. But I'm staying on clips (apart for dirt jumping, that would be stupid).
This dude knows what's up! I completely agree, and would switch to clips for gnar, but I ride flats just to keep it fresh leg muscle wise. More flatfooted makes my backpacking season better. Otherwise I rock clips for ultimate bike control. I also dremmel out my clipless flat shoes, and put the spindle closer to where I ride on flats...but somehow I still point my toes down more and my stabilizer muscle groups die off an anemic death on long rides.
Edit: Or maybe he has to pee as slipfinger mentioned before me?
Nicely done, really.
