Exploring Carcar and the Carcar DH Challenge

4 months after San Fernando gave the gravity boys of Philippines a taste of a good DH race, the JN TrailBangers of Carcar announced the Carcar DH Challenge. Although Enduro has been the race of choice for most riders for the past two years, the rider attendance has been just as massive as during the SFDH. It was awesome to see a lot of the pure trail and enduro riders register at the event, even more so, seeing them try the jumps and drops akin to a DH race. Read along as our the OZRacing team explores what the town of Carcar has to offer, while participating in the Carcar DH Challenge.

The province of Cebu is one of the most developed in the Philippines, but after an hour of driving away from the city, we find ourselves in quiet little towns. One of those is Carcar. Despite the existence of a major department store, and modern businesses here and there, I still consider Carcar to be an old town. This is due to the visibility of old-style buildings, as what can be seen from the town’s hall.

Aside from lechon, Carcar is also known to produce the tastiest Chicharon(fried prok skin) in the province.
