 Remember its TOTAL SCORE of all of the runs each athlete does COMBINED. So if Semenuk has it wrapped up and only has to do a victory lap, he won't score well on his final run. A crashed run will also score low. You're not trying to choose the top 6 winners, you're trying to choose the top point earners. That is why Mitch Chubey was a top pick last year and even though Greg Watts won, Watts wasn't because he only had to coast his final run
