I said it a couple weeks ago and I'll say it again... Isla Short with no factory support and a youngster on the scene taking a top 5. She is on a roll this year! Hope she picks up a sweet deal for 2021!

Great women's race, PFP is an absolute machine. The 2nd place battle was epic! Eva's reaction says all about how tough that was. And as a Maja fanboi for life it gives me chills to see her in top form, climbing 13 positions right into the top 10.

 absolute absalon machine Wink

@ilyamaksimov: Julien is sure handing out lots of hugs today Smile The French are on fire!

Qu'est ce que tu veux que je te dise. ...

Well, we've got zero cycling of any kind on the TV, and can't watch mtb without a vpn, so count yourself lucky.
  • 3 5
@hllclmbr: land of the free though buddy
  • 1 1
@hllclmbr: The Olympic channel is covering it. Pretty well too.

Yes isla short!! Great to see her hit the top 5! What an exciting race. The 2-3-4 battle was gripping viewing.

Came here for bad jokes about Vader fighting to dominate the world(s)
  • 16 0
He's already breathing pretty heavily, let's see if he can put a chokehold on the young French rebels' hopes.
  • 4 1
@bananowy: there was a definite lack of balance for Vader on the technical descent.
  • 5 0
 The fall of Vader

 Was most likely Dark Vader...
  • 1 1
@bananowy: from a certain point of view.
  • 6 0
That 3 min gap in the women's race is quite something. And from what the camera showed us after the finish line it looked like it was an easy one for PFP (I bet it wasn't) !
I wonder if the muddy conditions helped her as she is a former cyclo cross world champion!
  • 8 0
 Jesus. That looks hard work.
  • 4 0
Maybe someone will give me an answer.. interestingly enough, I don't see a lot of the men riders who are using the latest edition of the Fox 32 SC forks, and instead use the previous one.
I guess it's because of the slight weight difference, or am I wrong?
  • 1 0
 Probably the case..
  • 6 0
Now we just need Vergier & Nicole in DH and the French sweep is complete!
  • 2 0
Pretty good odds on that happening! In the mens field especially. Any one of about 10 frenchies could run away with it!
  • 4 0
PFP is unstoppable when on form. Congrats! Hey Trek, imagine if Bec McConnell was one of your riders... And super-Sarrou smashed it! Shame about Henrique's and Marrotte's flat tyres.
  • 3 0
Ahh, sad day for my fantasy team, Belomoina's dropper issue and Terpsta DNF Frown

Amazing ride from PFP, and amazing finish and comeback by Eva!
  • 2 1
Yeah Terpstra DNF is brutal... Still, PFP 1st and Evie in 13th so still hopeful Eek
  • 1 0
 @Dropthedebt: what happened to Terpsta?
  • 1 1
@esmo: Pulled out mid race. Started well but as they say, that's racing.
  • 1 0
Congratulations to all ,but that Pauline what a machine another E.T :-))) ,for the men’s I will wait till the event is over and then watch on the Red Bull tv later on and expect the Red Bull tv will be working fine ,as the Dh I will ride in the morning drink a phew beers take a shower eat and then yes I’m ready for the replay without knowing the results,it’s almost like live ,and you can go back or forward in the event ,just hope that the great Red Bull tv media will be fine
  • 5 0
 Hope Kate's OK
  • 4 0
Mathias Flueckiger 2nd again. Nothing ever changes!
  • 3 0
Wow, well done to France, they have some amazing riders in all disciplins, pretty much owning evetyone at the moment.
  • 2 0
Both men's and women's had some old school vibes, riding alone in no man's land for majority of the race, brutal conditions, spread climbs where you can see opponents, etc.
  • 3 3
I find it mildly funny that after the Tour De France the French media was insinuating everyone else was cheating because the French sucked (in reality they just couldn't stay on their bikes) but the way they are suddenly dominating mountain biking is overlooked, particularly the riders associated with Julian Absalon?
  • 2 0
Must say it crossed my mind (fu...g sadly)
  • 4 1
The French are not "suddenly dominating mountain biking", they've dominated mountain biking for the past 20 years!
  • 3 0
Mum and Dad Vader really missed an opportunity there when the named there son Milan...
  • 8 0
Maybe they named their daughter Ella to make up for it.
  • 3 0
 Make mud wrestling great again!

  • 1 0
 paddock?
  • 1 0
Yep, fat fingers here. Sorry all
  • 2 0
Pidcock has signed with Team Ineos for next year, so he'll probably be more road and cyclocross than MTB... But we can only hope...
  • 1 1
Loana is on a fantastic run of results recently. Along with Evie, the breakout athletes of this truncated season. Chapeau Loana, chapeau French Cycling. Beer

Looks like Kate Courtney DNF due to a concussion

  • 3 0
Top 10. Just ahead of his bud Avincini. :-)
  • 1 0
 Will there be replays available?
  • 2 1
Red Bull TV has all the replays available.
  • 1 0
@billreilly: Unless you are in the US apparently. You would think they would be allowed to show it after the live aspect is done with. Crickets anywhere for any coverage that I can find other than some short shorts on Twitter. Oh well
  • 1 1
Seems like last year they did not show up. Download a VPN for your favorite browser, chose a country that has the red bull live and go to this site in a private or incognito tab. www.redbull.com/int-en/events/uci-mountain-bike-championships-leogang-english-only
  • 1 0
Funny that Annika Langvad was listed after pulling out of competition
  • 4 0
The start lists are produced slightly in advance of the actual event. The results include everyone that was on the start lists whether they actually take the line or not.
  • 3 0
She's just that fast. DNS but still listed on the results sheet.
  • 2 5
Some covid infections to come? Spectator high fives at the finish straight then those gloved hands to face/mouth/blowing kisses.
Totally see how you can forget your transmission rules though after such an epic effort and the emotions of racing being front and center.
  • 1 1
Well it was a good run for france in this year's worlds. Probably won't be in contention for any more events though...
  • 1 0
What's in the water over at team France??
  • 1 0
PED run Absalon. Seems timeline falls in place nicely.
