The most crowd-friendly slopestyle event of the year went down yesterday in the streets of Nuremberg, Germany, with tens of thousands of spectators watching the Red Bull District Ride. The course designed by Martin Söderström had a wide variety of unique features and would
also decide the overall FMB World Champion.
With standout runs from riders like Erik Fedko, Diego Caverzasi, Ryan Nyquist, and Anthony Messere, it was Szymon Godziek's "extension man" run that elevated him into 3rd place with 89.66. The young Swede Emil Johansson put down a run full of massive combos and technical wizardry to take 2nd with 91.34. Ultimately, Nicholi Rogatkin dropped in and put down the top run with a world-first in-competition 1440 and a 92.05 score.
With Brett Rheeder being sidelined by an injury during training, Emil Johansson's 2nd place sealed his claim to the title of overall FMB World Champion here at Red Bull District Ride. It's been a hell of a year, and this was a hell of a contest to close out the slopestyle season. New tricks have pushed the boundaries of the sport, and new faces have risen to the occasion. We can't wait to see what next year has in store.

Rogatkin was just nuts second run, seeing Emil shaking his head after Rogatkin pulled the 1440 off summed up the day. Then coming out and stomping his second run and very nearly pulling it off.
The lift was worth a mention for its own entertainment. Singing, bike mods and at least one rider muttering to himself.
Awesome show put on by all, young and old on an amazing course. Nyquist smmed it up when he said he had never seen anything like it before...
