Danny is in a good spot! I'm cheering for him!

Riders 48-52 is going to be a fun ride! Hope we get to see lots of their runs
  • 7 0
Yeah. Fingers crossed for minimal snow, no injuries and good coverage.
  • 1 0
One minute gaps between their starts, so unfortunately I doubt we get to see a lot of their runs.
  • 9 1
Jack moir was 6th and start in the 40? Damn thats a weird process. Basically qualifying is useless?
  • 19 0
Qualifying at World Champs never determines start order. Always based on last years results.
  • 1 0
@thejake: then how do first year elites end up higher than seasoned riders? Vali Höll is after Tahnee Seagraves. It’s just the weird and sometimes wonderful UCI.
  • 3 1
@T-Bot: it's UCI points, not world cup position. They get points as juniors.

Can someone tell me how minaar being amost 10y older than all the rest of the fiels is still keeping up with the youngguns? ????

look at him, he looks like 32, must have stopped ageing
  • 3 0
@Socket: and he still finds it difficult to read amongst other things. He said it on a podcast,I was relieved. Rides bikes good and that’s it

@barbarosza: Link? Or at least title? Would love to hear more directly from Greg
  • 4 1
Much excited! Holl vs Hannah, Cabirou, Hoffman, Seagrave, Nicole oh my. On the men's side, man, it sure would make everything better in the world to see Finn Iles pulls one out of the hat and take it.
  • 4 0
Vali will have some hot seat time with 7 racers following her.
  • 2 0
@50percentsure The woman race will essentially decided at the big gap jump in the lower part.
  • 2 0
@dh-corn: looks like you were spot on there - with valli out on right that booter
  • 1 0
@skintightleather: In the qualification only Hannah and Hoell jumped the gap, hence the time difference to the others. Hope it won´t take out more women in the race.

BTW: Cheering for Hannah, she would well deserve it. Possibly her last chance!

update out of forrest nation 7:30 in the morning CET- according to webcam NO snow at leogang midstation where the start gate is located. should be good to go. still sloppy af

Your user name makes me concerned, but I'm certainly impressed with your status updates

What about Martin Maes? wasn't he supposed to do World Champs?
  • 1 0
Wasn't he carrying an injury at the last EWS?
  • 1 0
@johnnyboy11000: ya cut a finger or thumb?
  • 4 0
Good luck, everyone ! Hope to see some nice runs and fun !
  • 3 0
hope it doesn´t snow!!! we had so many few races these year, and now the weather comes in the way too... :/
  • 9 0
Then again it would be something to see Danny Hart doing battle against truly biblical conditions...
  • 2 0
It’s already snowing, and will continue to snow. If the race proceeds, there will be a combination of snow, ice, and sludge. I expect the track to get much, much worse as the day goes on
  • 1 0
@onlyDH: where are you getting reports of the snow from, or are you there?

I'm on a night shift at work trying to watch the Leogang resort webcams to see what the weather is doing!
  • 2 0
@GrandMasterOrge: I am in Austria. If this race doesn’t get cancelled, it will definitely be one for the history books. Honestly doesn’t seem like these conditions are safe enough to race
  • 3 0
@GrandMasterOrge: I stand corrected. It looks like the middle top got snow, but the start is at the middle station and it’s clear there and below
  • 1 0
@onlyDH: Cheers for the update, browsing through the webcams but it seems like some of Leogang's are live and others are semi-live where it's showing most recent photos from yesterday.

That combined with varying altitudes is making it hard to work out what it's like but from what I can tell it looks like the upper mountain has had a reasonable amount of snow but the mid-station and down is relatively clear. Happy to be told I'm wrong on that mind!
  • 1 0
@GrandMasterOrge: Looks clear on the ground with sleet in the air and very miserable-looking. Unless the riders fear for their safety, I see no reason to cancel
  • 1 0
 @thingswelike:
judging from the first times coming in for the junior women, the forest section seems to be pretty much unrideable...
  • 2 0
@ThrillPhil46: We have racing! Woohoo! Yep, although some 6 minute times coming in now which isn't very far off their quali times
  • 1 0
@thingswelike: True! Maybe I concluded prematurely...well known problem Wink
  • 2 0
@ThrillPhil46: I'd say there's a big difference between early starter junior women and elite men when it comes to what is and isn't rideable.

Anyone know how to get it on Red Bull TV in the states? I figured it out last year. Had to go into my setting and change some stuff around but I forget how I pulled it off. Any help?
  • 3 0
Go to Mexico and it will work
  • 1 0
Google Chrome has a Browsec VPN extension. Cost $4.99 for a month. Set your VPN location to one of the countries that allows the Red Bull TV broadcast. Select change browser time zone to virtual location in settings. Go to Redbulltv.com and enjoy.

Can somebody explain the point of qualifying in world champs? Because that starting order is by ranking anyway?
  • 1 0
If the race is cancelled due to extreme weather, then whoever wins the qualifying is world champ. Plus, the unprotected riders are on the clock and some of them missed out. I think it is top 80 plus any protected riders (Greenland and Bulldog) outside the top 80.

 STAY ON YOUR BIKE DANNY!!

Webcams for the resort show snow already on the ground but I'm not sure where on the mountain.

I believe that the race start is at the mittelstation at 1320 metres, the webcam for this station/height on the link you have provided looks green to me at the moment - snow must be higher up.

What happened to the Denim Destroyer, Johan von Klebelsburg? Is he not racing this year?
  • 1 0
He had to undergo hip surgery after crashing a couple of weeks ago
  • 1 0
So for now there seems to be a race! The junior women are on track!

And Vali Höll is out for today as she apparently got injured Frown

How can i see Worlds even if i’m in Italy and Italy it’s not allowed? ????
  • 2 0
I just tried “Zenmate VPN” to watch XCO at 1080p. The difference with the other VPN options its that you can register without the requirement of a credit card for a week.
  • 3 1
UCI PLEASE IF SNOW DON'T CANCELED THE RACE.!!!

Man Benoit Coulanges is going to have to sit in the hot seat for HOURS

Gonna get cold FFS, hope he packs decent jacket for the wait

Does anyone know why the Stream on red Bull tv is geo restricted?
  • 1 0
 NBC owns the rights.
  • 2 0
Use the Opera browser and set location to Europe or use a standalone VPN
  • 6 1
@suspended-flesh: too bad there isn’t an article about this on PB that anyone could read.
  • 2 0
@bstill30: I know. It's a shame indeed. Each one teach one
  • 2 1
@suspended-flesh: Europe is not a country. Not all European countries will have Red Bull broadcast.
  • 2 0
@EnduroManiac: Yes, I noticed that while traveling there extensively. The Opera browser, however, does not differentiate and the setting is simply Europe. ThiS seems to make Redbull.TV think you are in Germany and I watched some XC this AM
  • 1 0
Doubtful. Not sure where everyone is getting their info from.

I have a feeling that was his strategy
  • 23 0
@makripper: doubt it seeing as he would have had to predict the weather conditions at last years world champs
  • 4 0
@makripper: timed run has nothing to do with the start list, it goes on last years result.
  • 5 0
@c1c51: you dont think so? Gingers are Full of dark magic bro.

@ColquhounerHooner: exactly, UCI points, not qualy

 Didn't Holl qualify fastest?
  • 5 0
It doesn't work like that for Champs - I don't really know why, but it just doesn't Smile
  • 3 0
 @thingswelike: Based on UCI ranking
