Saalfelden Leogang in Salzburger Land, Austria, April 7th 2016 – A new trail will be flowing through Bikepark Leogang this year: “HOT SHOTS – fired by GoPro”. The new flow trail with its easy to ride tables provides pure pleasure for all bikers, from beginners to pro shredders. Capture its 3.5 kilometers / 2.17 miles of pure biking pleasure on your GoPro this summer.

Saalfelden Leogang is the epicenter of the European gravity scene and now has one attraction more to offer for the upcoming season. The trail “HOT SHOTS – fired by GoPro” will be the new point of interest for flow fans. When having reached the top station all one has to do is switch on the GoPro and get going in front of the fantastic panorama of the Leoganger Steinberge. Very soon bikers will be sweeping through the forest into the valley and the desired rollercoaster feeling will kick in. Easy to ride berms will bring a bright smile to every rider’s face and the terrain makes pedaling almost needless. No matter if you are a beginner or an experienced rider, everyone will have huge amounts of fun on the new trail “HOT SHOTS – fired by GoPro”. At the mid station the riders then have to make a difficult decision: beginners might want to head over to the “Hangman II” to ride down into the valley. Accomplished bikers can try to conquer the World Cup “Speedster” track. Of course there is the possibility of taking the lift back up and enjoying the new rollercoaster trail again.

The “HOT SHOTS – fired by GoPro” was inspired by the Leogang team’s countless rides in Europe and Canada. Chief shaper Reini Leitner and his crew utilized their creativity and all their experience when creating the new trail, which gives bikers yet another reason to visit Leogang.

The heavily addictive flow trails have made an incredible impact over the past years. Almost every biker loves the rollercoaster ride on that stirs up butterflies in your stomach. Breaking is often superfluous due to the fairly low gradient and the waves and berms let you ride with playful, elegant moves – a feeling that makes you want more.

Bikepark Leogang opens its doors on May 12th up to the middle station, and depending on the snow conditions the whole park including the new trail “HOT SHOTS – fired by GoPro” will be accessible from May 26th. Special bike hotels such as Salzburger Hof, Rupertus, Bacher, Riederalm, Ritzenhof, Puradies and Pension Haus Tirol as well as competent bike shops such as Sport Mitterer and Sport 2000 Simon will make sure that you and your bikes are well looked after. www.saalfelden-leogang.com/en/activities/summer/biking/bike-accommodations

I hate these Autobahns. It's called "mountain" biking. Not BMX down a hill.

I personally think it's much better for beginners to learn how to brake and cornering on a simple track instead of struggeling in front of faster riders on harder tracks. There are still enough DH trails...

Leogang - first bikepark introducing Double Blue Trail... when easy is not enough.

 hahahaha double blue diamond trails

Bikeparks should invest in natural style singletracks. Long technical descents and ascends covering a langer area and will keep you away from the lift for at least an hour.

"invest " ? such tracks are SO easy to build man !!! send 3 guys with rakes , no shovels needed so all the loam stays ... and if it's in a bikepark so a lot people will ride and will 'create' and dig the track by riding on it !!! this is the best way to build tracks

Even 3 guys with rakes need food in their faces. So some investment will be needed. Agree on creating the track by riding it.

hahaha if you consider food as an "investment " too ... Big Grin I'd say builders pay on their own

@RedBurn: It would take 3 guys and a rake a long long time to build a 3.5km trail, and even longer to make it sustainable.

@Martinez242: and beer, don't forget the beer investment fund.
  • 1 0
@Boardlife69: off course, that would double the investment.

seems like some people here forgot how they learned to ride a bike, or did you all ride the double blacks from the beginning?

riding crappy city bikes with bars made of plastic on any trail accessible. Good for the soul. Better than double blue Smile

No one should take a chair lift to learn how to ride a bike. That happens outside where you live on a nice grassy playground. But as a kid in the 80's riding my BMX down rutted out MX tracks this trail looks like it would be more fun on a skateboard.

I personally like trails like this. It's much better to learn how to ride a DH bike on a Flow Trail, like breaking, cornering etc. Be honest - most people would also be annoyed to see beginners struggeling on harder tracks in front of them!

I love Leogang, it's cool as, however I ride with my kids a lot (8 and 7 yrs), even though they are very capable and ride very good bikes it can limit where we visit. Whilst we were there last year the 8 year old rode 'Ganster' but it was a little steep so they both spent most time on the green or on the bottom section (which is still really good). This addition is just what it needs so people like me can ride the downhills and my kids and wife can ride the easier stuff (for now).

If you have a family and still want to ride this is exactly what is needed. Any riders complaining about this new track..... just wait until you've got a family... your opinion may change.

DH track for road bikes ?
  • 3 1
man it' perfect for beginners ! they gotta learn letting off the brakes!
  • 3 3
honestly, the pics in the link do not look good at all.

i have to agree with what @Boardlife69 and @Grononosse already said - i have fireroads with bumps in my backyard and there is no need to travel to leogang for that.

after downgrading the dh-tracks with the alterations of the last years, there is yet another reason to skip leogang this summer

There are enough people, who like those type of trails. Nobody is forced to ride this track.

Thanks Leogang to make truck road to allow shuttles when your bike park is close.

There are too many aphalt roads in the world... Fail.

I spent 10 days crushing the speedster last year. Leogang Get two dh tracks and I'd spend 20 days.

I don't mind this trail if it is like "crank it up" in whistler. Otherwise I will go full hate mode Big Grin
