Official FMB World Tour 2015 Calendar Released

May 8, 2015
by FMB World Tour
The FMB World Tour is now in its sixth season. Riders have already put points on the board at Bronze, Silver and Diamond events. Brett Rheeder most recently took the win at Round 1 of the FMB Diamond Series at Crankworx Rotorua. And Nicholi Rogatkin, together with Martin Soderstrom have put Specialized on top of the FMB Factory Team ranking. Now, back from New Zealand the athletes will be competing in more events as the tour builds up for round 2 of the Diamond Series: Swatch Prime Line Munich on June 27th. Since 2010 the FMB World Tour has been the platform for young riders to become professional athletes and smaller events to become globally renowned. Let’s break it down – more than 45 events across 15 nations, that is how many events are planned for this season compared to 18 events across 8 nations in 2010. Over 150 athletes are registered for 2015 compared to approximately 50 in the first year.

After getting a taste for the action at grassroots events, the ambition kicks in and every year we see AM athletes upgrade to a PRO license. New to 2015, the FMBA has incorporated several national series, under the FMB umbrella so that aspiring riders can gain points at these Bronze level sanctioned events. With the 2015 season now in full swing, the FMB World Tour will once again be prepared to lay the groundwork for more progression.

At the top of the 2015 FMB World Tour Event Calendar are five Diamond Events, two in North America, two in Europe and one in New Zealand, which make up the FMB Diamond Series. The next Diamond Series stop is Swatch Prime Line (GER), on June 27th 2015.

This year will host three Gold events, including well-established contests like 26TRIX, FISE Montpellier and the Maxxis slopestyle, formally known as Colorado Freeride Festival.
No less than eight Silver events are also on the schedule this year. So far the season-opener White Style, the big urban dirt jump contest Vienna Air King and the Swiss indoor event Swatch Rocket Air Slopestyle have attracted some of the biggest names out there. New Bronze events are on the calendar with the inclusion of national series in the UK, Germany and Poland. We hope to see them bring new riders to the scene.

I think what we're all wondering is where the hell is the FEST calendar?
  • 2 0
Yeah I'd like to know why PB aren't getting behind FEST more- they're just pushing people to Vital and other sites to find the vids first. I liked things better before politics.

 Bergline should come back !

7 out of the 48 events this year are European and two of them you have to be top 16 to be invited?! So I guess you need to be rich to get anywhere with this....
  • 3 0
Did you mean 37? That's roughly what I counted...
  • 8 1
I think he meant NOT European.

What I find interesting is no Asia, S. America, or Africa. At least Worldcup DH hits Africa on occasion (not sure if they are this year). I hope they can make it a true World Series in the future.

I went off of a comment posted above. I didn't actually take the time to count it....point is there's not enough events out in NA to balance it out better. Flights to Europe from here aren't a cheap dude

it isn't that hard to sign up for a bronze event actually. get your park dialled and do an event by yourselves!

I've checked it a week ago just to have an approximate number for Budapest to Vancouver single ticket prices and it was like 140 CAD with only one transfer.

Why is there almost nothing in America? I'd like to see a few more contests that I am able to attend.

Good to see the 2015 calendar get released in May 2015...

It makes sense why BMX riders leave the sport and start riding MTB.. Way more contest and the ability to win more prize money.. 48 contest is pretty crazy, compared to bmx only having X games and Dew tour really anymore and few smaller contest here and there like Fise and simple session
  • 13 1
That is definitely not true, although bmx does not have a proper world tour like mountain biking, there are a hell of a lot more contests around the world. Along with those contests there is definitely more prize money and sponsorship money available in bmx.
  • 1 4
People leave BMX because the bikes are kid size or small adult. I haven't been able to fit on one since I was 15. Did it stop me ridding a bike? No, I just got a mtb and haven't stopped ridding.
  • 1 1
how tall are you? cause im 6ft and fit on my bmx bike just fine...... also trust me theres no money in BMX have lots of friends in the industry and they make chump change compared to mtb and skateboarding..
  • 2 0
No GoPro Mountain Games this year? I know that event wasn't the most popular, but dang that was a sweet comp! First time I ever got to see my favorite pros ride bikes in real life!

If a single rider would attend and podium at every single FMB event, would he have more points than someone who were to only compete in the diamond events and podium?
  • 2 0
Diamond events must be worth WAY more points than the rest. Plus, all the traveling involved to be at all those events would probably take a bigger toll on the rider's than it's worth...
  • 2 0
Diamond events are a different series from the rest of the events. It's invite only and the ranking is only from the Diamond events. Look at the fmb website
  • 4 0
Yes, I was however referring to the FMB World rankings. I do agree that it would take a massive toll on a rider to do that much travelling. Alas, I was speaking in theoretic's, or in layman's terms, out my ass.
  • 1 0
Haha I get your point. I have always wondered why guys like Tomas Genon aren't higher up in the rankings. That guy goes to, and wins, so many small events that are sure to collectively give him a ton of points.
  • 5 3
laughable, no silver or gold events in america and only 3 bronze events... get fucked fmb
  • 3 2
Winter Park isn't in America? Also, not too sure what your riding career aspirations are, but I would think that flaming the FMB (or anyone) on a public forum for no reason is probably a bad idea? or maybe being an e-douche is cool with your sponsors?

prime line same as rampage? HAHAHAHAHA

6 stops in Poland! Very nice!

 Looking forward to Rampage Fest
  • 1 0
Yeah, a bit too much contest in Europe compared to the numbers of them. If there will be 60-70 contest, that will be okay!
  • 1 0
Did anyone notice that Red Bull Rampage on the calander is spelt Red Rull Rampage!!!!
