Recently some important pieces have been added to the Livigno Bike Paradise Puzzle” The Mountain Park Carosello 3000 has been creating a special area for all those who prefer to experience mountain biking and nature with a free spirit, rather than practice extreme MTB disciplines (well represented at the other beautiful bike park in Livigno).

Hans “No Way” Rey, pioneer of freeriding and inductee of the MTB Hall of Fame, has been riding his bike all over the world on the best trails and locations. For the past few years, he has been working together with Livigno and Carosello 3000 on an innovative project, building a trail network suitable for most riders no matter whether they prefer Enduro, All-mountain, XC, or even Fat bikes.

Carosello 3000 has already opened over 20 km of purpose-built flow trails, interconnecting the already existing natural paths network. They range from the scenic tourist itinerary, Coast to Coast to the purely flow-country trail, Roller Coaster, and from the H-Dream, fast trail with lots of airtime, to the brand-new and more advanced Blueberry Line. There are also very simple routes for family cycling tours, as well as freeride and backcountry trails like the panoramic descent into the Federia Valley.

But that's not all. Other trails are being planned or already under construction. During the first half of August the new trail named "S-Way" will be inaugurated (subscribe to Trail Alert to receive a preview of features and a video of the new trail). It will be a magical easy line that takes across the heart of the mountain, in the natural amphitheater that in winter houses Fontane Vetta ski slopes.

Although the quality of the trails is the main factor at Carosello 3000 - Livigno, a full-spectrum MTB destination must also be able to offer appropriate supporting services. Livigno offers a network of Bike Hotels specialized in accommodating bikers, great duty-free shopping, and countless restaurants, pubs and other activities. In town, there are numerous rental shops where mountain bikes of the best brands can be tested and bought. And, of course, there is a guides center with guides able to offer their competence and a wide range of excursions.

The Mountain Park Carosello 3000 in Livigno, with more than 40 km of MTB trails, and many exclusive trails for hikers and trail runners, is evolving to one of the largest and best-organized areas for outdoor sports in Italy and in Europe.

As fun as flowtrails are, at the end of the day I'd rather ride a technical, natural singeltrack which challenges me and progresses my skills. Seems like a good way for introducing beginners to the sport though.

at the end of the day I'd be lying on the grass crying for a tree

@fracasnoxteam: Livigno is about ~1800m above sea level. Good luck finding trees over ~2000m in the alps (or anywhere in the world Wink

i think every kind of flow trail that hasn´t got massive jumps is boring for a good rider after one ride .... !

i totally agree. they always say, flow trails attract all kinds of skill level, but too often they forgot about the better riders. Just make those tables bigger and triple their number. there should be no straight without rollers to pump, tables or potential gaps to hit. A flowtrail must be full of features you could chose from. if speed is the only way to increase difficulty, flow trails are not flowy and even more dangerous than the tech stuff.

@chainzuck: Use those flowtrails end of the season, when they are full with brake bumps. Wink

This place looks perfect for a trip with my kids. Plenty of time on the bike, and I know my family would love those kind of trails. A little sneak off then when they are tired and go ride the more demanding stuff on the Mottolino side of the valley. Everyone's happy.

If you are in Livigno go to bikepark Mottolino. Its more DH and FR suited. Just dont break any bones because the nearest hospital is a 1,5 hour drive away...
