One Epic Bucket List

Nov 21, 2014

There is an exhilarating feeling that comes with crossing off a bucket list item. It’s a rush from start to finish. An idea plants itself in your head and, if you’re motivated enough, you go for it with every ounce of energy. Bucket lists can be far fetched and seemingly impossible, but that just makes the pursuit more entertaining.

One Epic Bucket List

Next up on my bucket list is to reunite with friends from all over the world and play at Gorge Road in NZ. After seeing the smiles on friends’ faces as they share their Gorge Road experiences, I started planning this adventure.

I began researching the trip and discovered the #EpicBucketList contest by Contiki and The Buried Life. If you are unfamiliar with either, familiarize yourself now:

Contiki
Buried life

The Buried Life fellas inspire action. I rediscovered their charm last season and have been on a mission ever since. A crash early last summer shattered my adventure plans. After surgery on both elbows, I had a moment to reflect. I spent the following weeks making the most of the opportunity I had been given.

Goal of the day doors.

On the upside of being completely useless, helpful friends always surrounded me. It was only a matter of time before our crazy ideas came to life. Unable to work or ride, I suddenly had time to do anything I wanted… so long as it didn’t involve my arms. I found my name on the Redbull Joyride novelty cheque, and landed on the podium at Bearclaw’s. Not too shabby, eh?!

One Epic Bucket List

With each completed list item, I felt a rush of forward momentum to tackle the next. I found myself leaving Whistler for more adventures. I found myself rubbing elbows with inspiring riders following their own dreams with energy and enthusiasm. That energy rubbed off, and I was hooked. Time flew and before I knew it, I found myself back on my bike. Crossing off bucket list items led me home, and back to Joyride150.

One Epic Bucket List

The crash turned my world upside down, but it all worked out. I decided to get upside down again; I learned back flips. Crossing back flips off my bucket list had me create a whole new list. Suddenly what once felt unattainable wasn't crazy enough.

We rode the Post Office Jumps - and flipped.
We rode the old Rampage grounds - on hardtails.
We hiked to ride the same ridge as Red Bull’s Ultra Natural - at sunrise.
We watched Redbull Rampage - live in Utah!

Utah adventures.

Now, I want to reunite with these friends and ride Gorge Road in New Zealand. And you can make that happen, thanks to The Buried Life and Contiki.

Just watch my contest entry which can be found here. It’s just 35 seconds. Share the link and share stoke.

Winning a Contiki New Zealand trip sounds crazy enough to try! Please help make this trip happen! Then, go make your own bucket list happen!

Love always,
Trish <3

What no talk of camping on cliffs in Zion, almost blowing off of a mountain in Santa Cruz, being sold snake oil fireworks in Lake Havasu, riding waterslides in Park City, and hanging out with THE weirdest people ever at that bar in Missoula? C'Mon!!! Canyon believe this stuff actually happened?
