Forestal - Straight out of the Woods

Forestal, a new brand, concept, world and way to look at life… Sometimes we do not only care about if the product looks good, is fancy or stylish, sometimes we really care about the story and values that are behind it. Now you are about to discover. This post is not the typical “commercial” where you only get to know a new brand or product. You are about to learn everything about it. Now we’re talking right?


Let us start with what they are and do. Forestal is a new bicycle component brand from Barcelona, Spain. All that they do is literally “self-made” at “home”. They nearly produce all their products in Barcelona.

The company was founded a year and a half ago, but the real process started two years ago when two passionate riders decided to start the adventure of a lifetime. First designing on 3d some stem prototypes and after that, they worked with 3d modelling on a 3d printer in their own house. Once the brand was registered, they produced 6 CNC machined stems and tested them, rode them and redesigned until they got what they call today the Forestal ATS45 Stem, perfectly designed to fit dirt jumping, all-mountain and enduro.






Why do they produce at “home”? It’s easy, all the resources are invested locally with a wish of creating new Jobs, boost the local industry and produce less CO2 emissions with less travel miles, but the big main reason this is the only affordable way to guarantee the best quality of materials and production process. You just don’t miss anything…

How does it work? From a design to a product, a lot of steps need to be mentioned. Forestal worked on 6 different designs at the same time until they mixed a couple in one and created the ATS45 they sell today. Once the 3d models were made and the first stems tested and reviewed by a Test-Lab, clearly passing all ISO standards, the main production started. The production process is the following: 1st CNC machining, 2nd hand polishing, 3rd anodizing, 4th laser engraving, 5th assembling, and 6th packaging. Each of this single steps needed to be adapted to the specific product, by this it's meant, that the way you anodize, polish or even create a packaging depends on the way you want the final product to be.












Why Forestal? Forestal means “Forest Ranger” in Spanish and Catalan, so it makes sense… Protect and Love the Forest. It’s a simple message and any mountain bike rider out in the Woods feels the same...




What do they say about themselves?

Our team is not made up of superheroes or big business people, we are simply passionate about bikes and we love to ride the mountains and discover new places. Some years ago we got in touch with the world of mountain biking and it stole our heart, now we just can't live without it. 

Any excuse is good to go out and ride, camp and enjoy the moment. The experiences that we live are unique and we must take advantage of them. For us to offer these products is a dream come true, the satisfaction of being able to contribute with something that improves the life of the cyclists, gives us the spirit to continue thinking about more components and possibilities. Behind each design and creation, we seek to be original, have a unique character and promote respect for the environment and human values. Over time, we have met riders of different ages, cultures and even countries, but the passion for bikes has united us and we are proud of it.

Our logo and name started from a clear idea, care and respect for the forest. For us, the tree is a symbol that represents life and its cycle.


Now let’s get to know all the Details about the stem:



The Forestal ATS45 Stem, as the name suggests, has been designed to be an all Terrain Shredder and handle multiple disciplines, from All Mountain, Enduro and Dirt. It's strong, yet lightweight and high precision CNC machined from a 7075-T6 aluminium block.

This aluminium is one of the most resistant on the market, frequently used in aviation and aeronautics, for its strength and lightness ratio. To have a killer product we combine CNC machining with hand polishing, high quality anodizing, exclusive laser engraving and titanium bolts. What more could you expect? The geometry is simple, an angle of 0º, 45mm in length, a steering diameter of 1 1/8, a handlebar diameter of 31.8 and a grip width of 55mm to minimize the lever effect. This combination of materials, manufacturing processes and geometries, create a unique component to make your cockpit solid, compact, reliable and accurate. By the way, all this "Made in Barcelona" following our values and philosophy.
