Gamut USA has released its new P20 bashguard design. Like its P30 and P40 counterparts, the new P20 continues Gamut's promise of offering light, simple, and durable chainguides. The new P20's optimized design provides a better way of absorbing energy from impacts by flexing and distributing the impact forces away from critical drive-train components. This approach to bashguard design was originally established in 2004 with the release of Gamut's P40, the choice of 2008 World Cup Champion Greg Minnaar. The P20 accommodates 32-34 tooth setups. As part of Gamut's commitment to best in class rider support, the new P20 includes our lifetime product warranty and any support you need from the Gamut crew."We are very pleased to have the P20 design done and out to the market. It's lighter, yet stronger. When we released the P40 in 2004, we provided MTB with a design that was made to flex and distribute energy away from the chain line without jeopardizing the drive-train. It was the first impact absorbing design of its kind and we've been working to optimize our bashguards ever since." Juan Graziosi Gamut co-founder.

worst guide ever, everyone I know who had one cracked the bash. Plus they make a ton of noise. Why bother, do yourself a favor and get an e13 guide.
  • 12 7
That's so true, stick with e13, better quality and will last you longer

dude i swear every model looks the same and cheap plastic. e.thirteens are complicated but are made with such better quality its worth it

They aren't cheap or weak. Here is Drew Powers (one of there rider's) doing 5ft wall tap out a of bowl then landed DIRECTLY on his guard and guide and nothing broke...cept for his collar bone. www.alloutprodux.com/drewgoesdown.mov

for sure, i have used one for that last 2years and only changed the bash because I got the usa ring for worlds. the people that have problems with them are lazy bums who don't read the manual! yes I know of people breaking bash rings, but they send you a new one no problem, they will even send you a few if you ask nicely! good guys, good product, no questions asked!

He is right for sure! The guys over at gamut are really nice and know what they are talking about. I am really impressed with gamuts new guides. I have been running gamut for 4 years now and no dropped chains or broken guides, I switched to e13 and with in 6 months went threw 3 systems. I am back to gamut wishing I had never left

gamuts are the best e13 dont even compare.

to each his own, but there's a reason why everyone isn't running a Gamut, and you see e13 on everyones bikes

it's a racers chain guide. don't bother if you'll be doing crazy drops and landing on your bashguard. it's made to be uber light, and more than strong enough for racing. the only time you'll hit your bash ring in a race is when you're going way too slow. and if you're going that slow, you don't deserve to have this nice of a guide.

how does that even make sense 'when you're going way too slow.'wtf

personally gamuts are the way to roll. people say the bashrings break but ive never had a problem. those people need to choose better lines or go faster so u can skip over rocks. gamuts are the lightest full bash out there and there super simple to set up and you will never drop a chain

 E-13 is far better

  • 1 1
i had one off these...it was a pos...broke at silverstar and ruined my day......the raceface one i got now is twice as good,,,,who cares if it was harder to mount .

sure 34-40 is better range? 34 teeth surely only for DJ style bikes

 Or 1x9 all mountain bikes...

get one!! best guide ever. say e13 is better. but take the security of the srs, and then give it the weight of the lg1 on a diet, then you have the gamut. kinda sells itself right there.

there cheaper and better iv had 1 on my hardtail and its never let me down just got 1 for my 224 and its amazing runns smoothly no noise has taken a good few dunts 2 the bash guard and no problems. the whole chain guide weights the same as an e13 bash guard. so dont waste ur money and get a gamut!

been running a gamut p30 on my demo for a few seasons now...excellent guide... have yet to drop a chain, it has taken a few decent hits with no ill effects, gamut cs is THE best i have ever dealt with....the only draw back for me is that it isn't the quietest

are the weights posted with the bash?

best guide out there, blows e.13 out of the water. Light, strong and affordable, you can have all 3. I've beat the bash on rocks for 2 years with no issues.
  • 1 2
Did anyone read the article? They now use a new material to make the bashguard more flexable and less stiff(brittle)so it doesnt break apart.I have a friend who has broken 2 E13 bashguards in 2 years and I have smashed a Gravity guard off as well.Gamut rules!

not a new material....they just removed material to lighten it up, which subsequently made it flexible
  • 1 0
Definitely the best guides. Indestructible, affordable, super light, easy to set up, and I've never lost a chain.
  • 1 0
Gamut makes good stuff and they back it up. If you ever have an issue call them and they will help you out for sure.

MRP System 3 is the best guide I have ever used. MRP FTW!
