German U21 National Champion Joins GIANT Swiss Enduro Team

The GIANT Swiss Enduro Team is delighted to announce the addition of current German U21 Champion, Lasse Eschler, as a new team rider.


Lasse, who was born in Germany in 2005, holds a German UCI license, and has been living in Switzerland since 2010. He transitioned to Enduro in 2021 after previously competing in XC and road racing, where he achieved notable results such as a 5th place at the 2019 European U15 Eliminator championships in Italy and a 4th place at the 2021 Swiss XC U17 nationals. In his first full Enduro season in 2022, he achieved a 17th place at the EWS junior in Scotland and became the German U21 Champion in Willingen. His goals for the coming season in the new team include defending his German Champion title and competing for victories and podium finishes in the Swiss Enduro Series. He also aims to place in the top 15 of the Enduro World Cup and, with luck, possibly even the top 10. Lasse is currently attending a sports high school in Bern and will graduate in 2024.


The team also announces that Mike Schuler has left the team to focus more on his job, but will continue to race. The team thanks Mike for his contributions and wishes him all the best in the future.

The 2022 season had its highs and lows for the team; Robin's 50th place at the EWS in Whistler was a standout achievement, but there were also setbacks such as Robin missing two World Cups due to illness and Lars experiencing several serious training crashes, including one that required helicopter rescue. Additionally, due to a crash in Whistler, Lars missed three races in North America, making for a challenging first World Cup season for him.


The team will be back in the UCI Enduro World Cup in 2023 and will also participate in the Swiss Enduro Series. All three riders will aim for podium finishes at each event, with Lasse and Lars competing against each other in the U21 category.

GIANT remains the team's most important partner this year as frame sponsor and title sponsor, provided by Komenda AG St. Gallen. SR Suntour provides top-notch support with their suspension and Maxxis will be providing factory support with top tires such as Assegai, DHR2 and Shorty. FOX will be providing clothing and BLUEGRASS helmets and protection for the three riders. The team is also excited to announce that they have acquired Swiss brand Nutriathletic as a new partner, ensuring that all team members have access to top-quality sports nutrition during training and competitions
