Press Release: Mons Royale

The stoke is high, the trails are epic, the weather is perfect... but just because conditions are at an all-time high, doesn’t mean your day is going to go smoothly.

We’ve all been there - you’re out at your local riding spot having a great time, flying down those trails, and suddenly you’ve come round a corner to a rider who’s on the ground. Do you know how to help?

Be your own first responder.

Whilst there’s definitely no replacement for proper medical care and you should always seek the help of a medical professional, often you (or someone you’re with) might be the first on the scene of a mountain bike crash, or other outdoor emergency.

And trust us, when you know what to do in that situation, at least until further help arrives, it’s way better - both for the person you’re helping, but also for you.

We want to help.

We’ve been in this situation too. Not only in backcountry riding, but at local trail centres, bike parks, and on jump trails. And it can be scary if you’re not sure what to do.

So Mons Royale and local Queenstown favourite - Atlas Beer Café - have teamed up to help riders in the Queenstown and wider Otago area feel prepared to deal with these situations.

Designed by Atlas’ very own chef Matt Mckinley, we’ve created a special limited edition Mons x Atlas Merino Tee. Snap one up here.

20% of sales from each Tee will go towards putting local Otago riders through MTB Outdoor First Aid – Mountain Bike specific first aid training run by Peak Outdoor Safety and Emergency Management.

Run by Mountain Bikers for Mountain Bikers, this course is specifically designed for learning how to assist and treat common Mountain Bike injuries in the field.

Plus, the tees are rad - thanks Matt! And are an epic memory of your time in Queenstown, riding that hero dirt, and of course, drinking that well-deserved pint at Atlas to finish off the day.

Both Men's and Women's Tees are available now at the Mons Royale Queenstown Store, Mons Royale Online and at Atlas Beer Cafe Queenstown (while they last!)

Cheers to that!

Thanks for the support of our mates at QMTBC and Peak Outdoor Safety and Emergency Management to make this happen.

Mons Royale and Atlas are two Southern Lakes companies with proud New Zealand roots. Mons deals with merino wool, Atlas deals with tasty refreshments. Connection with the community and the outdoors is at the heart of what they both do.
