Thats hardly fair considering he's sponsored by gopro. (it's tagged in all his videos like this one. www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPf50JTjzco (11 seconds in) a normal dude should win!
Check out the entries, a lot of professional riders are entering with their Rampage contest lines. A lot of sponsored riders don't quite make enough for it to be considered a profession/living. $1,000 is a big paycheck for a lot of riders and $20,000 is unreal. Free gear is so cool (I would hop on that train in a heartbeat) but it doesn't quite pay the bills.
I can understand your view completely but this is billed as a contest to find the best line in the world and the rules don't state that being sponsored by GoPro is prohibited in order to enter. Being sponsored by them isn't a huge advantage... his skills are a huge advantage, haha.
The rules are pretty clear that no one associated with Go Pro can enter. They are clear about GoPro employees and affiliates etc but not so clear on sponsored athletes. It also states: "The Submission cannot have been submitted previously in a promotion of any kind or exhibited or displayed publicly through any means". Oh you mean like Kurt Sorge's line that won the first month? Not sure when this one was posted up originally but I'd bet this isn't the first time it's been shown publicly.
Yeah man second place!!!! Obviously were just stoked to be entered at all on this let alone second place. No hard feelings about a pro getting first. Its just different because we don't get free mounts, go pros or to be able to travel anywhere in the world to ride all paid. But we don't care at all. We built Iron Horse from the ground up and just ride for fun because we love it. Stoked to be recognized at all considering how many awesome entries there were. Thanks for all the votes you guys! Andy and I couldn't be more stoked to have Iron Horse in the top 3.
Well the reason Remys sponsored by gopro is cuz he puts out hella cray footage which is kinda what this contest is kinda about so i dont mind if he wins
When you let your friends borrow your go pro to film their trail top to bottom while your filming the trail, and it ends up getting second place. looool
Gopro should expand the entry dates for vids to open the field of entries. There are first gen gopro vids out there that would put these entries to shame. Katies run deserves the win imo. Urban assault is not that exciting to watch.
Remy sure shreds, but that Iron Horse Trail looks like soooo much fun, the riding was awesome and the mood in the forest was just perfect. Totally my number 1 amongst these!
The trail in the flight deck video is so freakin dialed!!! you can see that by how stable the camera is and how it aint making a bunch of noise... Jealous
Great videos, but as far as it goes for light and the beauty of the surroundings I think they have chosen the wrong time of the year for this contest..
yeah how dare he call you out for calling Wil White a whiner when you clearly didnt know the facts. Wil's line got stolen 3 separate times at Rampage by the same tool of a rider, after days of building and trail building followed by unwarranted frustration. then he voiced his complaints and you call him a whiner. You must think Martin Luther King was just a whiner for voicing his complaints on something he knew was unjust as well.
you calling me a troll is the pot calling the kettle black. then you go and spam this same message on a dozen different threads and claim that I'm the troll that needs to crawl back under my rock. I've never met an Australian I didnt like but jerk-offs like you make me ashamed my family immigrated from Brisbane.
And just for the record, when I commented on the negative perceptions some people have on Wil White's attitude, I was not referring to him mentioning his lines being poached. A was referring to the tirade of negativity he espoused about him having no where to ride, there being no hills in his area, rangers fining him for riding, having no sponsors just bike companies offering him discounts etc etc. Yeah the man can shred and I love his style, I just think he needs to mature his attitude a little. You're the one that's been trolling me and PM'ing me with abuse. You get so worked up over nothing, don't live your life through an internet forum Joey.
Is this a "record your best downhill run" contest? or are the cross country guys going to be considered at some point? I understand DH is faster and better to watch, but XC still exists...
a normal dude should win!
