Jan 14, 2017
by GoPro

You. Your bike. Any Line. Anywhere.

We've had five months of videos, hundreds of entries, three winners each month and now, one wildcard. Here's where it all comes down to you. We have gathered the top 16 video's of the contest and randomly entered them into a bracket-style challenge. You watch the videos, you decide who wins each round and ultimately who will take home the $15,000.

Grand Prize Winner
The Grand Prize Winner will be determined by a 16 seed bracket-style vote. All 15 winners from the 5 months of voting (3 winners/month) are automatically entered, along with one wildcard, into the user voting bracket. Each Displayed Submission may only be entered into the bracket once.

Each round will last a period of two days and the video with the most votes will go into the next round of voting. The process will continue until the grand prize winner is determined.

maybe steve storey has too many submissions....

It shows that everyone should take a look and learn how to create proper POV footage from him.
  • + 1
@Mongoss: there is no ""proper pov"" ... i personnaly like it better without any gimbal.
  • + 7
Agreed! There definitely should be a limited number of submissions per person.

Haha, I didn't plan it this way but I'm feeling pretty damn lucky and honoured to have a few in the running. I built 3 of the trails myself and was really excited to capture and share them with everyone. The one I didn't build does feature the trail builder riding in front of me though. I submitted 5 videos over the past 6 months and thought I might possibly get 1 in the finals. Definitely a surprise but damn pumped nonetheless Smile

Don't apologize, its up to the judges and those trails are siiiick. Its no different than Leo Taillefer on the ski side of things who sends it massive and wins a few. If anyone is going to win, people should be stoked its not a world known pro but rather a fellow ripper and trail builder.

@stevestorey: what gimbal is it that you use?
  • + 2
@stevestorey: so sick that you even built these trails yourself! I thought, thats just what they ride BC, but now I'm seriously impressed.
  • + 3
 @moutnbiker: The Z1 Rider 2

@JustYourAverageJoey: Yes, over the last 3 years. We do ride a lot of trails like these around BC too though Wink

How tf was he supposed to know his videos were so on point? Now that he sees he has 4 videos in the finals, he thinks he maybe submitted too many.

 that sNOw hander was dope
  • + 7
That match up 3 BC trail that Steve rides is just so beautiful and well designed. Whoever built that trail well done. It's very fast flowing but yet is so technical and rough.
  • + 5
Thanks man! I built the trail with some help from amazing friends. We put a lot of work into it so anytime we get feedback it doesn't go unnoticed, cheers Smile

Isn't this Darren Berrecloth's video? Why is this guy getting credit for it?!

some of the locations seem messed too. Pretty sure that McFarlane is in NZ, not Whistler
  • + 0
yeah and the one with joel anderson following nico vink is shot in Hürtgenwald, Germany not in the UK
  • + 3
@plyawn: the locations will be where the user is registered. As Conor is from NZ, his uploads will generally be marked as that.
  • + 6
@paulhaysom: When people see a video labeled with a location they assume that that is the location where the video was shot. Surely you realize this.
  • + 6
NICO VINK A.K.A THE SHREDMINATOR AND LOOSE RIDERS!!!!

what's going to happen when it's Steve Story as both finalists?
  • + 4
 And all 4 semi-finalists
  • + 12
he has some great footage, but maybe just limit it to the best entry per person?
  • + 8
@plyaw he's been consitently top in the monthly comps, could have happened to anyone...plus he shreds.
  • + 3
The competition is for best video though, not best filmmaker.. why nominate sub-par videos for the sake of variety?
  • + 5
where is.. Chris Van Dine - Cascadas Mexicanas Line ?? that was super uniqe and should be on the finals. thoughts?
  • + 3
 Definitely
  • + 2
He must have broken one of the contest rules because it was a pretty cool line.
  • + 2
I'm on my phone and the bracket/loading page doesn't format properly. I can't see any videos or vote for any because they're all overlapped. Just an FYI to the tech folks behind the scenes.
  • + 1
Same. Loaded desktop version and it worked
  • + 1
Can´t view the Queenstown´s Clip. Beside that the one with most fun is for sure the two Frenchies playing rock scissor paper at the beginning and then having fun till the end.
  • + 2
The bracket elimination format doesn't work well for videos... few people are going to watch all 16vids again to make a proper head to head comparison.
  • + 3
dangerous dave gets my vote, i could conceive attempting and failing that, the rail ride on the dam i couldn't even watch
  • + 3
Dave Herr man! Been a long time since we have ridden together. Sick shreds on the skinnies brahhh
  • + 1
Thanks man! If the contest would have gone on another week, I could have ridden the skinnies in the snow :p
  • + 3
Vincent Tupin for the win. Hitting those jumps on a blind snow covered trail is nuts.
  • + 2
Watched all of them, they were all boss! The Yoann one was my favorite though
  • + 1
The videos were suppose to be between 1 and 2 minutes (written in the rules), lots of the videos doesn't enter the "criteria" of selection... But all great still !
  • + 2
2 standouts: Rail ride in Austria and Yoann's amazing personality and always having fun. Love the French commentary.
  • + 1
The POV format really favors the guys doing the harrowing, narrow lines over just riding trails -- even if the trail guys are going big.
  • + 2
all of them are so good... just want to ride my bike now Smile )
  • + 1
So hard to vote for these they are all amazing putting yohan borrlei against bear claw was cold though.
  • + 0
I think it should be limited to 1 submission per person. Also seems to be quite a lot of trail stumps, I prefer complete trails.
  • + 2
 I am a little biased @stevestorey Shreds
  • + 3
 Love all of the videos.

Some of them weren't even the best in their own clips.
