In between the World Cups at Mont Sainte Anne and Windham, some of the teams joined Gstaad-Scott to visit New York City and the grand opening of the Velosolutions' pump track in Williamsburg.

Now, after the racing season has calmed down, we can show you the video of it. Thanks to Gianluca Ricceri for the the awesome edit, and to all the riders who came to New York City!

Great footage, horrid music choice. This isn't a Coca Cola commercial.

  • - 2
I turned it off as soon as I saw high-waisted jeans.
  • + 1
 HAHAHAHA You're funny... Big Grin
  • + 6
 @FABIANBIKE there's nothing funny about high-waisted jeans.
  • + 6
hahaha, i talk about "This isn't a Coca Cola commercial."
  • + 1
 agreed
  • + 1
the song is typical mainstream commercial music, yes, but certainly not as bad as the brostep heavy music featured in nearly all of Red Bull and GoPro's commercials.

I LOVE JIZZ ALL OVER MY FACE
  • + 11
I rode it after the Wyndham world cup. It was awesome!
  • + 6
I want to see Mark Gonzales on this thing...either on a bike or a skateboard. Maybe some sort of bicycle skateboard he's built in his apt.
  • + 4
So obviously, it was super crowded because of the grand opening event. Any idea how crowded these things are weeks/months/years later? Just curious.
  • + 2
If it's anything like the park that predated it across the street - they will be very manageable during the week, with predicteably busy crowds during the weekends with lots of youngin's. They need to do some time trial events at this new park if they aren't already planned, that was fun at the old track!
  • - 1
If it's anything like the park it predated across the street – it will be open/close randomly, shut down form october until next june, and closed at 6pm. Don't worry about being crowded either because nobody went to the old park-and it was free. To get in this thing they charge something like $80 a month! LOL!
  • + 1
I see it being open year round. Wasn't the old place made of dirt? If folks are riding it while its really wet, or after it snowed, or after a freeze, etc. It could be pretty damaging. Since this is asphalt, it should be fine to ride. I'm on the West Coast so I don't really know much about the old park (though I was actually in the area the weekend it opened).

I think the usage fee is going to be the big hurdle. $20/day is what I saw on the FB group. On the one hand, someone has to pay for these things and do maintenance on the grounds. Seems like after the initial funding campaign, it could be handled with volunteer hours.

Lol - MojoMaujer - I can't disagree with that. I was friends with some of the people that ran it, so I was able to ride there whenever pretty much (except when it went into winter mode). It was fun riding there whenever, since we had a key.

Fun times were had though - I moved to CO this year, no chance to ride the new park yet - which looks unbelievable haha. It was fun changing little things around on the old track at-will though.

@movilechernobyl you know what I am talking about! If they want to make it cool, just make it free and open 24/7. Ride at your own risk sign outside. This park ain't for newyorkers.
  • + 2
Why would you want to ride this on a 26", 27.5" or 29"? And why run suspension? A BMX or 24" will be so much more fun and so much faster. They'll accelerate quicker, turn quicker, pump better, jump better and just all round be more fun.
  • + 2
It's probably fun on any bike, ride what you got!
  • + 2
Nobody rides it on 27.5 or 29, and 26 with DJ tires rips this park. Don't hate.
  • + 0
It'll be fun on anything, but it'll be more fun with smaller wheels, and faster too. I'm not hating. I've got a 26" too.
  • + 5
RESPECT between bikers, rollers (?) and skaters... WE NEED A PUMPTRACK LIKE THEESE IN ANY PARK IN CHILE!!!!!
  • + 6
id be willing to bet it was tolerance, at best.
  • + 1
Not sure there's much respect. At our skate park its skaters on some lines, bikes on others. When they ride the same stuff it's... awkward... The scooter kids show up on the weekends and the odd rollerblading dude is treated like when you see a mono-skier - they stand out and get mocked, but they're pretty harmless.
  • + 1
Bladers and boarders get along in our city because if you talk shit to someone that you don't know you better be prepared to fight them. Kids aren't chumps at our parks. Maybe in your small town in redneckville kids get mocked at skate parks for having fun, but that doesn't happen in nyc. Put a biker on a pump track and they go in circles doing nothing. Put a skater on it and possibilities are endless. Grow the fuck up already.
  • + 3
bmx and skateboarders get along here. mostly it's parks that decide who can do what, where. i mountain bike and even rode bmx back in the day, but i've skateboarded longer than i can really remember. only petulant children would hold a grudge against someone for what they chose to do. unless it's a razor scooter - fuck that shit

 Or fruit-booters...

/\ says the Power Ranger above
  • + 5
how do we get one of these in venice beach or somewhere in LA please!!!
  • + 1
i agree since i'm moving there soon Smile
  • + 1
Snow Summit has a pump track! Not exactly IN LA... but...
  • + 1
If it's anything like it was when I was there(Jul. 26 IIRC), it was about a half-second long, and clearly built for mighty-mites.
  • + 1
I wouldn't know... pump tracks bike parks.
  • + 1
Look up Jim Dellavalle. He's the man that makes the projects happen.
  • + 1
I went there in August, I was pretty much the only one there.... It was $10 for 2 hours..... I was over exhausted in one hour... Then went to Brooklyn brewery for some samples...... I suggest a visit
  • + 1
Not bad looks good...a bit small for NY. But i know if i go to NY i can throw my street bike on th eplane and still have a ride Smile
  • + 3
You don't need a dedicated place to ride in that city... wait till about 11-12 at night after all the suits have vacated downtown, and give'er hell! Some great street riding to be had! Watch out for that granite tho... it likes to bite back lol.
  • + 2
i bet it gets packed... needs to be bigger ... we have the same problem over ere
  • + 0
Lol.... No one goes there. 30 people for the opening. If they have 8 people At the same time I would call it a record.
  • + 2
wtf serious... not many riders in the city then
  • + 1
There are plenty of riders. Just because this place is getting press, it does not mean it is endorsed by cyclist.
  • + 1
we get a sk8park here and you cant move i just assumed rad facilitys were the same over there... ur lucky
  • + 1
Sick park only problem is gonna be the scooter kids. They ruin all our fun.
  • + 2
We need a pump track in Valencia Spain!!!!
  • + 2
What!? I want those chicks staring at my local trails
  • + 1
Actually the footage was complete fecal matter.
  • + 1
What do you suppose this cost? I could use one for the backyard.
  • + 2
 if its in williamsburg? $60/hour
  • + 4
It's In Williamsburg... they probably force you to ride a Bianchi Pista or a 1970's Schwinn Varsity on it.
  • + 1
I think is nice, but so crowded it.
  • + 1
that looks awesome, I wish my town had a pump track
  • + 1
Please make the same one in Switzerland !!!
  • + 1
Is the one at Zürich to small? ^^
  • + 3
Okay I'm out, you got me Big Grin
  • + 1
Made in Chelsea goes to the pumptrack....s09 e58
  • + 1
Nice edit but definitely not liking that tune
  • + 1
Going to Newyork in February, Will this be alright to ride?
  • + 1
New York in February... might be 40 degrees and sunny, might be under 3 feet of snow.
  • + 2
That was my thinking! Cheers though
  • + 1
Good luck! Winter on the East Coast is unpredictable, but the odds of having good weather are kinda slim. Hopefully you're not just visiting NY for the riding.
  • - 1
This will shut down next year I think... Plenty of places where to ride with legitimate guys. Free.
  • + 0
New York is the City that never Sleeps. Now its also the City that never stops Biking.
  • - 3
The trustfund bike park! There are plenty of places in Nyc where to get you bmx kicks... this aint one. There are actually two places within a mile. Any proper bmx rider does not even know this thing exist. It is just an advertising for the monster condo that will be built after demolishing the Domino Sugar factory, an historical building. To distract people. Don't believe the hype, nobody use it. 'nuff said.
  • + 1
 What?
  • + 1
He's saying he's the BMOC, and he and his minions are too kool for school
  • + 1
"monster condo" - It looked to me that Red Bull was sponsoring the event. (i'll see myself out)

But really, what are the other places? and are those family places? this strikes me as a family place.
  • + 0
A family place? If you lived in ny you would understand how this is just a no sense park. $20 a day family place? Actually you may be right about family. The only people I ever saw riding the old park were kids. Like 8 years old. In organized groups. I mean I only see people riding the place two, max three times. In one or two years. Also this place is going to shut down next year, so they can build the condo. Lots of money to set it up. Now... I would be pissed if the got tax money for it. But they won't tell who gives then the cash.
  • + 1
I totally agree on the price thing. Its whack. I also think that's $20/person. As far as funding goes, they did a gofundme campaign. I dont know if that covered everything or not though. So while it might be a family place, its definitely not a $20/person family place. It needs to be $free.99. Maybe not open 24/7, but dawn-dusk. Unless there's lights, then let it follow normal city park hours.

I personally wouldn't pay to play there. But I'm not from there so that's just an opinion.
  • + 0
Nice going PB. Now it's all mainstream. Hipsters will mock it.

 look's like a good vibe
