GraubündenBIKE - Video Contest

Sep 7, 2016
by graubuendenBIKE
In Graubünden, almost every path is a trail. Thanks to a wide range of biking activities and a breathtaking scenic landscape, the region is one of the most appealing mountain biking areas – and is why Graubünden residents experience a trail adventure every day on their way to work. This inspired graubündenBIKE to launch a video contest which gives every biker the opportunity to prove that their ride to work is spectacular, no matter where they are.

“Hiking trail = biking trail” is the motto in Graubünden, where the region’s expansive network of trails is available to both bikers and hikers alike – as long as everyone is considerate of one another. A total of 4,000 kilometers of marked mountain bike trails are waiting for bikers of every skill level in the single track paradise. Bike parks, events, and multi-day tours in the five regions Scuol Samnaun Val Müstair, Davos Klosters, Flims, Engadin St. Moritz, and Lenzerheide round out the extremely varied overall experience.

When nearly every path is a trail, the daily ride to work becomes a biking adventure. And the goal of the contest launching today is to prove that this isn’t only possible in Graubünden, but all over the world. graubündenBIKE is looking for the best video of a ride to work on a mountain bike – whether on a single track trail in the mountains, through the forest in a metropolitan area, or in the concrete jungle of the big city.

The #MakeItYourTrail contest rules
To participate in the contest, users post an Instagram-video of themselves biking to work – and it needs to be clear that they are actually on their way to work. The video can wow viewers with spectacular jumps, incredible landscapes at the crack of dawn, or simply contain a creative, funny idea of how to turn the ride to work into an adventure. The only conditions: Participants need to follow graubündenBIKE’s Instagram account (@graubuendenBIKE) and add the hashtags #graubuendenBIKE and #MakeItYourTrail to their video. After the contest ends on October 2, 2016, a jury will select the five most spectacular submissions. The selected videos will then be reposted to graubündenBIKE’s Instagram account, and the video with the most likes by October 16 will be declared the winner.

The grand prize is a “National Park Bike Tour” package for two (four nights’ accommodation including luggage transport) valued at CHF 1,000. On this tour, bikers ride around the Swiss National Park in four stages – and all without luggage, since it is transported from hotel to hotel. The one-of-a-kind landscape is the backdrop to one of Switzerland’s most scenic mountain biking tours.

Get Samedan to allow bikes again. This ban is a joke. I almost never met a hiker there...
