Gravity Card Bike Park Pass Announces Details for 2021 Ticket - 1 Card, 22 Bike Parks

It’s that time of the year again: The snow in the mountains is melting and the urge to get our bikes out of hibernation becomes stronger and stronger. Well, good news for all bike park fans: after Pohorje Maribor, Bikepark Wurbauerkogel, too, already opened for the 2021 season on April 24. With the other bike parks of the Gravity Card to follow soon, mountain bike riders all over the Alps (and beyond) don’t have to wait much longer until they finally can do what they love most: shredding trails.

After a record-breaking season 2020 with more Gravity Card tickets sold than in any previous season, there are huge expectations for the 2021 summer season. With 22 bike parks and 175 trails across six countries there is plenty to discover this year as well. Due to the huge variety of the Gravity Card bike parks, every rider can find themselves the right offer – no matter if bike park pro or beginner, adult or child, enduro enthusiast or downhill rider. The latest addition to the bike park group is the Bike Areal Kitzski in Tyrol, Austria with four single trails with a total length over 20 kilometers. “Hahnenkamm”, namesake of the infamous downhill ski race, is a versatile trail of 7.2 kilometers and 850 meters downhill. Its newly built the connection to the Fleckalmtrail offers 7.1 kilometers on a challenging track directly connected. With the Lisi Osl downhill trail for advanced riders and Gaisberg Trail for beginners offers something for every riding level – not to mention beautiful panoramic view of the Kitzbüheler Horn.

“It is a great pleasure and honor for us to be part of Europe's largest bike park network from next summer. The bike tracks are signposted, a new connection between Fleckalm and the Hahnenkamm was built last fall, we have prepared suitable bike wash areas and our lift staff will be happy to meet our guests' individual needs. Heading towards the bike season 2021 with big steps made, preparations are in full swing. The first two parks are already open, MTB Zone Geißkopf is waiting in the wings and aims to open its season on May 1. Shortly after, Epic Bikepark Leogang will follow on May 8, as well bike parks Schladming, Lenzerheide, Semmering, Brandnertal and Petzen on May 13, opening their gates for the riders – some of them only on weekends in the beginning. Due to their higher alpine location, Bike Republic Sölden and Bikepark Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis open eventually on June 11 and 12.

As already known from the previous year, the Gravity Card special arrangement in response to the Covid-19 pandemic will be valid in 2021, too. Highly appreciated, though only hardly put to use, the arrangement gives customers the option to cancel season tickets that have been bought through advance sales completely until the end of the summer season free of charge, provided that they have not been used. Furthermore, if legal regulations or lockdown measures in individual states mean that opening the bike parks and their associated lifts is delayed or not possible at all, the graduated price alterations will apply. The Gravity Card season pass is valid from 3 April 2021 to 7 November 2021 with the following prices:

Adults: 519,- €

Youth (2002-2004): 390,- €

Kids (2005-2014): 252,- €

 Love this idea! Just buy a camper, season pass and ride different bike park every weekend.

 This is great instead, like Dolomiti Superski in winter. Now, for the camper... damn Covid brought RV prices absolutely out of control here.

 Yes but last year it was all ready out of control with car parks completely full and a real lack of camp facilities at most bike Parks I predict this year will be much worse, families are really cottoning on to the idea and the "bike Boom" has really encouraged new buyers to visit bike parks to enhance their skills and have in Turn discovered this totally new idea of buying a van. Gravity card should be doing more for the campers! I have been a loyal buyer every year since 2013 with every price hike but sadly things for the dirt bag campers and weekend warriors (the true gravity card group) things aren’t improving as they should.

 Oh wow it only got 20€ more expensive this year. It is clear the market audience for the gravity card is shifting and I am all for inclusion of new groups enjoying bike parks but perhaps the core group of people who helped promote gravity card to what it has become today are being a little left out in the progression?

 Ive paid just 3 years ago 100 bucks less for the gravity card. Or was it 4 years ago? No going to buy it anymore.

 @iscaryot98: The Gravity Card gets a bit more expensive with every new bikepark that joins. The proceeds of the card need to be shared between the different bikeparks to make it worthwhile to join instead of just offering 22 individual season tickets. If they wouldn't do that, each resort would get less money per rider every time a new resort joined which would lead to resorts leaving the Gravity Card. It's the same for the various regional season passes in winter that cover multiple resorts like the Salzburg Ski Card or the Tirol Card.

 @Sp4xXx: well if we are talking ski cards then this is something else, ski season cards come in a number of various options, Currently Gravity Card have a monopoly and can ask what they want but there is a limit to what people are going to pay especially when they aren’t even interested in half of the parks on offer. I would suggest they make options if they want to hold on to this extortion practice. Fewer parks for less money would be worth considering for many customers but let’s face it this card is pushed to would be bike parks as an elite club to join. Less and less quality parks are joining and it’s filling up with crap parks that we have to pay for when we were happy with our options half a decade ago!

 It would be ideal if there was a 'light' Gravity Card option only for bike parks inside Austria for 150€ less.

 I was planning Saalbach in July but between the slow vaccine roll out and the middle Europe travel restrictions, I guess it will be another summer in the Swedish bike parks.

 Dont go to Saalbach. Its Crap. There are better options in this Area.

 @nanon: It depends hardly on what tracks you like! I don't like the shaped tracks there too much also, but there are so much singletrails (sometimes with a little pedal effort) which are in my opinion some of the best in Austria Wink
If you want to shred Bikeparks, there are better options in the area for sure.

 If you stay in any hotel in Saalbach you get the joker card which gives you free entry to gondolas. Except in Leogang, you only get 1 per day but there are 2 lifts so you could ride down 2x. Not sure if that changed recently.

 @old-tube: No it´s not for free anymore since 2020. You can use the cablecar 2x a day. But you get minus 30% off the bike ticket. In exchange they opened two more lifts, so that you don´t have to pedal back on the road.
In my opinion it`s the right choice. Good trailcare needs enough shapers and a shaper costs money.

 Someone knows what will be the restrictions this year? only needed to wear mask in the line\gondola like last year, or this year you'll need also to show negative test or some kind of vaccine document before going into the gondola?

 probably proof of a negative test if they're worried about people getting too close. Proof of vaccination just means the individual is protected, that same individual will still spread it around if they have it. its not really their concern whether someone gets sick at their park, its a concern if it becomes a breeding ground after someone brings it in.

 In Austria last year you had to wear a mask and keep distance, I suspect this season you may perhaps need a current negative corona test (available all over Austria with online booking and cellphone) the “green card “ for vaccinated people is still in debate but gravity card will give you some money back if the season is cut short. I am optimistic and believe the season will return to normal by July. The Austrian Government is already looking into ways to boost the tourism sector so perhaps they will go easy on hotels and lift operators. This is all speculation of course.

 @oldfaith: sounds good, it was the same at UK bikeparks late last year - a mask on the uplift vehicle was enough.

 I just phoned Leogang and they say as it currently stands you will not need to provide a negative test to use the lift/facilitys and Bikestore. However if you want to stay in the carpark or a hotel or eat at a restaurant you will need a current negative test.
