"my team mate designed it, and I thought it was terrible." that was brutally honest. I like it.

He doesn't look like a douchebag at all.

You're right, he looks like a Champ.

Where is the rest of the interview?
  • 17 0
Seriously! We clicked on it to watch the full thing, not just get a tease!
  • 6 0
hahahahaha 1minute of video and about 10seconds of speaking

So true, Greg doesn't get nearly enough recognition in his own country. Legend!
  • 19 1
Its true that Greg doesn't get the deserved recognition back in SA but I'd say with the exception of maybe Danny Macaskill most top mountain bikers don't get the recognition they deserve. Bottom line is they don't get enough coverage on national tv or in the papers.

Too true, your average Brit would have no idea who Peaty is. It's only road riders who get the coverage (probably due to the olympic coverage)

 So true.
You look in the cycling section of the BBC news and there is only road coverage. Strange when there is so many Brits winning in MTB???
  • 6 0
Yup the one sport we actually do well in haha
  • 3 0
I think they're was a tiny bit on the BBC website when Rachel Atherton won the world champs, although Liam Phillips barely gets a look in and BMX is an Olympic sport.

The BBC did broadcast a Fort Bill WC once (the first time it was held in FB I think) on Grand Stand. It got the single lowest viewings in the history of Grand Stand. I think they're still reeling from it
  • 2 0
That was 2007..... I still have on old vhs tape somewhere with it on! Personally I think it would ruin the sport if it becomes too big on TV!
  • 1 0
@DC1988 Ok, Liam Phillips might not, but look at Shanaze Reade, she has her share of tv time and seems to be in quite a few adverts for various things. (I saw her on an Aldi poster just yesterday)
  • 1 0
But Shanaze Reade did well in track cycling which meant she got her name out there

Met Greg 2 years ago in Morzzine. Got my picture taken with him,had a brief chat then he buggered off. The next day,me and my mates came off the hills, parked up the bikes at the bar and started sinking the beers. In comes Minnar with a few cronies, has a beer, walks over to our table and asks how our day was and where we'd been, then buggered off.Absolute gentlemen. Top bloke.
  • 2 4
He buggered off ? Some would interpret that as leaving in anger, rather than just leaving. Sorry to pick up on your use of slang, it just bugs me.
  • 6 0
 ^Bugger off.
  • 2 0
I don't know if I would've been gutted, gobsmacked, or just told the old git to sod off! What a Chav. With all due respect, US American.
  • 1 0
Buggered off maybe the wrong words to use (I am Scottish after all haha) he was very freindly and chatty, not just with me and the lads but also with everyone else who spoke to him. Genuine guy.

Gwin open the mouth = 400 comments. Minnaar open his mouth 20 comments. What is going on!!
  • 16 3
*Gwin opens the mouth without even announcing anything just to get some attention during the off-season...seriously, nobody asked him

It seems like there are only less Minnaar fans out there. In my opinion the best downhill rider ever because there is no other rider who has been one of the world's best for such a long time.
Go Greg!

And I felt bad for it, thanks guys.
  • 5 0
Confident enough to say he is a handsome man.
  • 1 0
To be fair, at least 200 of the comments will be hate on a Gwin article...
  • 21 1
 Is that it?
  • 14 0
One of the greatest of all time for sure, living legend.
  • 15 0
 Well that was fast !

"And he doesn't get nearly enough recognition at home, so here's this little video and him saying one thing." Progress takes baby steps I guess!
  • 4 0
Let's face it no downhill mountain biking athletes got enough recognition in any countries.
  • 5 0
Is this basic cable access show?
  • 6 1
South Africa, where one question interviews reign supreme.
  • 2 0
 That audience seemed very...homologous.
  • 3 0
you realise it was just a teaser right?
  • 1 0
 Yup
  • 5 0
That's about how something positive last around here ;p
  • 4 0
What was that? Minnaar on TV (video) for like 30 seconds. This is a joke!

Minnaar is such an awesome dude, always seems so chill, and yet has delivered the best Downhill performance ever!
  • 2 0

  • 2 0
Well that was a whole lot of nothin'
  • 2 0
Minnaar has many more years ahead of him, I feel.
  • 2 1
That was some track!!! It started in Fort William and finished in Switzerland lol!
  • 1 0
Nope, it was all in Switzerland, I think Warners commentating confused you saying "he took that 17th win in Fort William"
  • 1 0
 Ah right i see Smile
  • 2 1
 That was South African TV?
