With the team sidelined in La Thuile, Italy for the EWS due to injury and illness, Aspen would be an important race to get the team back on track for the remainder of the race calendar. Aspen would not come without its challenges, situated at over a mile over sea level, the altitude would hinder even the best prepared.
Despite being the first race back from a broken wrist, Martin would finish the weekend in 4th place. Anneke would come back from illness to finish 5th overall. On the mend since Ft. William, Wyn would face some back luck while passing, which caused him a flat. This would, of course, take him out of the running for any top result. Rachel Throop would finish 32nd on her home turf.
@jasengomez: Sorry man, I was being sarcastic Maes mentioned coming back from an injury like half a dozen times. Speaking of injuries, I really feel these riders should be wearing neck and wrist braces, maybe like "lite" versions so their movement isn't as restricted but at least hey have some form of protection.
Btw, so is Maes coming back from an injury? I'm not exactly sure
