He makes that track look like so much fun. When in reality I'd shit my pants in the first 200 feet.
  • 9 0
its a really fun track, but it hurts by the time you get to the bottom
  • 6 0
5 minutes (at danny hart speed) will do that
  • 2 0
I doubt I could make it to the bottom in one go even... My arms are hanging on any thing over 2 and a half mins and rough Razz
  • 49 0
There's definately money to be made in opening a café half way down
  • 6 0
 You mean 20 feet
  • 1 0
Easily one of the best tracks I've ever ridden but he makes it look annoyingly easy! I'm pretty sure he just pressed fast forward.
"STAY ON YER BIKE DANNY!"

I love watching pros on real technical stuff like this track! So balanced and smooth.
  • 7 0
 Danny Hart's fast as fu#k!

Someone needs to figure out how to incorporate a GPS unit into the GoPro frame. Imagine seeing real time speed (during the video) and elevation loss? That would be such sickness!
  • 3 0
Hmmm... I've heard of that from somewhere...
  • 1 0
Yeah but the VIRB is terrible quality apparently...
  • 6 0
 *cough* sony action cam *cough*
  • 2 0
Garmin do one don't they? Contour?
  • 2 0
there are tons of smart phone apps that will do that. you could probably pocket a phone or strap it to a bike. i use it skiing all the time.
  • 1 0
Even dedicated GPS units are kind of crap. The consumer Garmin ones seem to struggle with accuracy under 25ft. On the Fort William DH, mines regularly only accurate to 70ft. Now imagine condensing that into a camera. It's going to be awful as an integrated unit. Closest would be film and GPS at the same time and then sync them, which is what I've been working on for a while.
  • 10 1
How can this so called man sit down? His bollocks must be of epic proportions...
  • 5 2
And I was just proud a few weeks ago, that finally the pictures on my action cam started to look fast on my hometrails..... uaaaaahh, he´s so fast and most of us will never come close. Sad! But admirable.
Really RAPID! Great!
  • 6 0
It took me 13 minutes on my bottlerocket to ride down and I also went 4 times over the bars but it was worth every minute
  • 5 0
wow that was so quick! Just makes me appreciate how talented the top riders are!
  • 2 0
Yeah man, you only actually realise how fucking fast the pro's go when you ride the track yourself haha
  • 5 0
He carries so much speed through every section!
  • 2 0
I wonder what kind of super glue he uses to get the tires to stick like that?
  • 3 1
I really like him, I mean, his riding, and the choices he makes all the time to try out some different lines and everything... but, I mean, it ain't fair for the others, he is just stupidly fast !
  • 3 1
He is without a doubt the best "bad conditions" rider on the WC circuit.
  • 8 1
" it ain't fair for the others," haha. now picture how fast the 10 guys who beat him were going.
  • 2 0
How'd he do at Cairns again?
  • 6 2
Everyone has on and off days. Watch his Champery run in 2011.
  • 13 2
 Shit was 3 years ago
  • 1 0
I hope he gets back up to where he was a few years ago.
  • 6 4
Danny's time was 4:59 there (approx) and Gee's winning World Cup time last year was 4:36. Watching this vid you'd think it was impossible to go any faster so how the hell do you shave off 20+ seconds!!!! So quick.
  • 11 0
 The track changed...
  • 2 0
@fabdemaere - and he still lost by 10 seconds under the same conditions this weekend.
  • 2 0
Oh I am absolutely not commenting on any of the rider's performance, I'm just pointing out that it's absolutely ridiculous to compare last years track to the actual one, they're completely different.
  • 1 0
Fair do's I didn't know the track had changed
  • 1 1
You would easily lose 20s off the time by doing the road drop
  • 2 0
Having ridden this track many times I can't really contemplate how he can go that fast. Simply breathtaking.
  • 1 0
Hit the first rockgardens after the boardwalks at the top and fly off into the heather. That transition from wood to big rocks always bounces me off in a random direction.
  • 3 0
0:24, was that a whip into a manual? Shittt
  • 1 0
I think he scrubbed into the manual.
  • 1 2
Not to sound like I'm trolling here... but the number of comments about PMB being "an XC track" a few weeks ago, and last year, was a bit uncalled for if this is supposedly the benchmark "MAN'S DH TRACK". There's a crap load of smooth, relatively dry trail, unobscene gradients; a motorway section with some huge tabletops and a few big gaps. Features of PMB as well. Sure, it has a few pretty mean rock gardens, and the slimy forest section looks pretty sketchy... but I don't think it was fair of the armchair WC DH champions to brand PMB an XC track. Most 'good' recreational riders wouldn't make it halfway across one of those tabletops, let alone clear all three. And that's supposedly on the "most XC" section of the track.

A full minute of smooth-ish rock/shale/gravel and BOARDWALKS before the first decent rock-garden? Dare I say that this could be done at WC downhill pace with a well thought-out enduro build?

Granted, this IS Danny f*cking Hart.. so he'll make it look easy no matter what.
  • 1 0
I was there this weekend and believe me, it couldnt be any further from a XC track! I know what you mean by the 'load of smooth' in this vid, but its Danny Hart ffs, thats why it 'LOOKS' smooth!

Off topic, here he is whipping over the big hip jump Smile

That track just got added to my bucket list!
  • 4 0
 A. Take midge repellent. B. Visit Are and Innerliethen in the same trip
  • 2 0
 *Ae, not are
  • 3 0
Well he could still go to Are bikepark, but that's in Sweden. And if it's not on his bucket list, I'd say add it Big Grin
  • 1 0
 I'll do it all!
  • 1 0
WOW!!! that's an amazing run, so smooth and calm, it makes me realize the potential there is in mountain biking.
  • 2 0
I would poop myself trying something like that.
  • 3 1
I just love how he cuts the corner at 1:14. That's some crazy fast riding!
  • 2 0
 sick line eh!
  • 1 0
Noticed that too. Pretty good line choice.
  • 3 1
Please tell me this is sped up. If it isn't, .."I'll get my coat!"
  • 3 1
It is not sped up. Listen to the whistles, and 4:59 is a bit slower than some of the times people were posting on this track...
  • 4 3
Yes I know that it isn't sped up. I know how fast Danny is.
  • 1 0
Sorry - I had serious doubts about the speed myself - so I thought you might have been in the same place I was. Unreal watching this.
  • 1 0
Top man what a ride my hat is off to him Took me and mate 10 times longer to get to bottom
  • 1 0
what kind of speed are they going near the bottom? can't be much slower than in pmb!?
  • 1 0
I've not ridden Ft Bill for a couple years now. I miss that place, must go back one day!
  • 1 0
actually some interesting line choices up top if you watch carefully, quite clever to be honest
  • 1 0
is he even breathing? just a shredding machine
  • 1 0
 "STAY ON YOUR BIKE, DANNY!"
Awesome. So friggin' fast!
  • 1 0
It takes some brains to ride with no brakes...
  • 1 0
 Jeepers creepers that's fast!!!
  • 1 0
Amazing how fast is this track.
  • 1 0
 Making the rocks look flat!
  • 1 0
damn i never knew fort. williams was such a long ass track.
  • 2 0
You get what's called "fort William fingers" about half way down. This I when you can't remove you hands from the bars as your fingers are cramped beyond belief, due to heavy breaking and the roughest terrain I have ever rode. (Although Danny seems to make it look almost flat at those speeds).
Awsome
  • 1 0
is that video speeded up? hes fast!
  • 2 1
Skill and BIG balls ...Danny Hart
  • 2 1
This is how I ride when my breaks fade!

My WC bag is packed, 4 weeks early
  • 1 0
Mega Danny Smile Great run Wink
  • 1 0
Those tables near the bottom look huge... Anybody know how long they are?
  • 1 0
The larger ones are pushing 30+ foot.

The double ones are a nuisance. You have to be going at near pro speeds to consider clearing them, so anyone less than pro has to roll them, and break their speed and flow. I really think they should change the larger doubles there into a triple or quad for the crapper riders, while still allowing fast people to jump the whole thing.
  • 1 0
this one and Vallnord is the best. On TV anyway. Hart is a fave. big up.
  • 1 0
I thought he was fast on the top part. Then came the bottom part.
  • 1 0
