Helmetor is a unique patented helmet holder designed by us (Tim and Jonnie) - two brothers and cycling enthusiasts from County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland.
We wanted to create a secure helmet storage solution as well as an incentive for cycling safety, i.e our kids having an easy to use and 'NO Excuse for not finding your helmet' solution.

Designing something that would work with the masses of helmet variations was the first challenge, inspiration in the end came in the form of a wire coat hanger!

Next was to find a plastic that gave us the following attributes:

Toughness, high impact strength, high resistance to repeated impact
High mechanical strength and rigidity
Long-term fatigue endurance
Good resistance to creep
Good UV resistance

As well as the usual CAD modelling/ strength analyses etc, we created a few of our own novel testing methods!

We then had 'Helmetor' - attachable to most flat surfaces vertically and horizontally, working with helmet vents sized between 30 and 65mm regardless of Helmet brand.
Oh yes - and with the option of being lockable too. Not only that it but it keeps your helmet away from all other surfaces and holds it in the best possible position to aid drying either from sweat or rain.

Helmetor is easy to install with two screws (provided), it has a 29mm diameter base, and therefore a tiny footprint - really allowing you to maximise your available storage space.

Who doesn't like an easier life and some organisation in life!

Helmetor is great for fitting in vans, SUV's, campers, anything that moves... keeping helmets safely in place whilst on the move.

Great idea, practical, logical and well priced. What's the catch?

 They're made from dolphin snouts.

(right?)

No catch except the bit that securely holds your helmet

I mean, great on people trying to create new things, but my helmet (when not in a bag which is most of the time) just floats around the backseat of my car..

Got the full face and the half shell kicking around the back seat now with a couple spots of gloves and knee pads. Never know when the shred may call.

Hmm... Another solution looking for a problem, imo.

I mean, maybe, but I also admire bringing a product to market that looks good, looks functional, and isn't outrageously priced. 10 bucks? I'm sure there are brands out there that would list this for 35-50 bucks, and that would make me bummed.

For people with multiple helmets, multiple riders in a house, or people who are just tired of throwing nice helmets in a bin or something, this looks pretty sweet, in my opinion.

@aks2017: Realistically it’s just another product we don’t need.
Alongside thousands of other things produced by humans.
We talk a lot these days about recycling but we never think and talk about stopping production of the products we never needed and things of low quality, that don’t last.

Well we don’t need these things, smart phones.. it wasn’t until my late twenties that I got my first Nokia, up to then I’d managed to travel through Egypt and Europe with printed material - no Google…
Do you have coat hooks? A bike holder? A shoe rack ? A wardrobe?
Because if I had to choose between throwing my clothes on the ground or my helmet I’d chose my clothes - as they won’t be damaged and that’s why we created Helmetor as out of this things forementiioned we think helmets have been neglected when it comes to storage even though being the most important- speaking from experience .
Helmetor started on 2017 and we are still using the same 1st prototypes. They can be recycled too.
Now I do agree with you at the same time to some extent but please don’t chuck out ill-nformed statements.
Thanks @Wilkomacc:

@Helmetor: Well done for you being able to read a map!
Smart phone are actually a very useful tool used in the right way.
If road infrastructure is changed you have to reprint maps. Smartphones can just be updated.
I don’t own a bike rack. I own more clothes, coats and shoes compared to two helmets. Why would a throw anything on the floor? My helmets are stored in a protective bags.
Like I said just because something can be recycled, doesn’t mean it needs to exist.
I’ve not chucked out any ill informed statements.
The only problem here is your damaged ego because you love and believe in your little helmet holder.
That’s all that matters to you

@Wilkomacc: 'things of low quality, that don’t last' I'm sorry but that isn't a well considered critique of our product. Bruised ego? Anyone who has been reading the Pinkbike comment section for years and was afraid of criticism and worried about ego etc. would NOT be posting here. This is the 'lions den' for products etc.
So we can handle criticism people saying 'it's not for them', use a nail' BUT 'things of low quality, that don’t last' phrases, well that's just a rant and lazy. Smile
Thanks
...and reprinting maps(eco inks/paper), still better than than millions of waste smart phone batteries...?' but to be honest I haven't really researched that so I'll retract it as I don't want to make ill informed statements..
