HOME // Episode 3: Defining Home with Jill Kintner — Presented by Maxxis Tires

In this Episode: In the final episode of HOME, Jill Kintner rides one of her favorite backyard trails in the Chuckanut Mountains. She pins the straightaways and takes the high line in a fashion that can only come from knowing every turn of the trail. A little extra inspiration comes from a simple question: "What would Bryn do?"

“Home” is a term that has a very solid meaning, yet the concept itself has a very loose structure. Home is a place. Home is people. Home is a trail. Bryn Atkinson and Jill Kintner recently moved to Bellingham, Washington, where all of these aspects converge into a community that matches their own passion for riding. Some things about their new locale might take some getting used to—like 34-plus inches of annual rainfall—but it’s all these elements together that make it what it is: home.

Yeah, but she said 'project wise' before that, as in project housing. Obviously she was equating Canada to Harlem. Obviously.

I love this series! It's nice to hear how the pro's live, it makes them seem more human.

This chicks state of mind is so rad... I'd like to believe she wouldn't get hung up on the other BS that so many do... I could listen to her talk about taking high lines all day...

Life is too short to have to drive to ride. It's even better when there is a cold beer store that you pass riding home. Good on you Jill and Bryn.

Jill has such an awesome riding stye: silky smooth but aggressive at the same time. I'm looking forward to signing my wife up for Jill's skills clinic at Stevens this year.

Soooo.... what's the job market in Bellingham like?
  • 12 1
Terrible... expect to make 10-40% less than down by Seattle if you can even manage to find a legit job... most of us living here are willing to make the sacrifice for the lifestyle! Shred pow all winter and roost corners all summer!!!

3 colleges here, no big factories or anything really... the problem is absolutely self created. No one really wants to work here, so no big industry can make it happen this no place to work.
That is the problem for the younger generation. The key living here is a skill set. Start reading the backs of your favorite product, chances are its made here. This it's ABSOLUTELY a craft-oriented section of the world. Example: Bellingham just got voted one of the top "beer-snob" cities in the country. Wont see much Pudweiser or Coors crap around here!

11 years grounded now, and I look round all the time in awe of the beauty and opportunities Bellingham offers. Then I see a video like this and it punctuates those feelings in spades. Thank you P.B. and the community it builds for such an awesome platform to share videos such as these. I love Bellingham!!!

Living within a five minute ride from Galbraith, I don't really venture down there much. Time to change that.

Haven't watched the video but I thought I could just as well consider getting the magazine. With the PB discount it is $20.95 for the US, $50.95 for foreign (other than US and Canada). I don't mind paying the materials, production and contributors but almost 150% of the those just for logistics (assuming shipping is free across the US) feels a bit steep. So sorry fine people at Freehub magazine, it is not as if I don't like what you're doing. Sadly I don't have a solution either.
