Words & Video: Fest Series

Here is the first Huckfest highlights in a few years. The event has been going on in the meantime, but due to corona and other effects the video output has been lacking. 2023 is the ten year anniversary for the line and the start of Fest series.

This year we had crazy storms leading to big floods and the festival being pushed back a week. Big thank you to all the riders staying a extra week rebuilding the line and keeping the festival alive.

For riders, by riders

But seriously, is Fest releasing this dumpster fire just to mess with us? 6+mins of its 9min runtime are devoted to: 1) two interminable scenes of dudes babbling in Norwegian, 2) bands you've never heard of standing on stage w/ no audio, and 3) snowmobiles + MX bikes. Oh, and when humans actually appear on camera riding bikes, whatever you do, don't introduce them by name. This media trainwreck has to be the worst inside joke in the history of the sport, only I don't know which sport to blame.

What Makken says in the begining:
"Høkkfest 2023, marks the 10 year anniversary of the Fest Line. It's been incredibly fun to follow the evolution the last ten years and see how ten years ago, we were about ten riders worldwide who could ride a line like this. And now at Høkkfest 2023, we have the T-hooks on the lift filled and a line at the bottom to ride the line. We have kids who rides the big line on enduro bikes, and it's very fulfilling to see all the positives this line has contributed with. This year, we had insane ammounts of rain before the festival. Hats off to the community who has supported and contributed to the festival and laid down countless "dugnad" hours (Norwegian word for when a community goes together to do work for free) to get the festival running and not to say the least the lines and the trails ready. I am super motivated, this year there will be a FMX show, both featuring FMX bikes and snow scooters. And we have bike riders from the whole of Europe and I really look forward to see the result of this years festival."

From me: Proud of you Makken and what all the crew has managed to get going at on of the best freeride bike festival in Europe!

(I don't think people in Pinkbike-land realize that this is a open festival that anyone can attend and ride and there is loads of trails, lines, concerts and happenings to attend.)
