There are many important lessons one should go through in life, but I'd argue that being humbled is probably at or near the top of that list. Being knocked off your high horse not only provides some valuable perspective, it's often also the best way to learn... just so long as you recognize that you've been taken down a peg or two, of course. Unfortunately, many of us seem to have a phobia when it comes to such things. As for myself, I've been humbled so often in my life
that I've actually begun to look forward to getting owned, despite my dogged cocksure attitude.
